Owner description: Following two devastating wars and 20 years of enemy occupation, the Jewish Quarter of Old Jerusalem was reconstructed with great attention to harmonious architectural detail. The highlight of the quarter is the excavation of the Cardo, the ancient Roman market street.

I loved every moment of every walk through every section of the old town, going in with an open mind will allow you to experience every part to its fullest potential... people are friendly

Liked the Cardo - Roman street, still in use as a shopping street 2000 yrs later. And the Herodian excavations, even older. And the modern houses, built in Jerusalem stone and fitting right in. Didn't like trying to get a taxi back, but found one in the end.

...to walk through this area and witness the culture of the place. Synagogues next to mosques next to Greek Orthodox churches surrounded by sites of bloody battle from the Israeli war of independence in 1948 next to Byzantium architecture and Ottoman structures. Amazing.

We enjoyed shopping in this historical area. We were waiting to buy our family gifts here as it held more meaning to us to buy keepsakes here including tallit for my daughter's Bat Mizvah. Make sure to haggle, its ok. Its much bigger and cleaner than other parts of the city too.

It is worth walking around this area but I didn't find the locals very friendly. The Wailing wall was interesting but I felt a bit like an intruder.
