Owner description: Following two devastating wars and 20 years of enemy occupation, the Jewish Quarter of Old Jerusalem was reconstructed with great attention to harmonious architectural detail. The highlight of the quarter is the excavation of the Cardo, the ancient Roman market street.

“A joy to see the thriving Quarter.”
Reviewed November 25, 2011

We loved seeing the different Shabbat dress of young women and young men, expressing themselves within the confines of the beliefs their parents and rabbi they urge them to reflect by their dress. It was similarly fascinating to observe the same efforts at self expression by Muslims walking in the Old City.

“Jewish Quarter”
Reviewed November 19, 2011

It's always great to see how the Jewish Quarter is a living, breathing neighborhood. I love seeing how the archaeological areas are in amongst present-day life. They've done additional work at the Cardo and the new mural portraying life there in the 6th century CE is very well done.

“So clean and peaceful”
Reviewed November 19, 2011

I liked the cleanliness and the peacefulness of the Jewish Quarter. More so, after I have been subjected to the forcefullness of the Arab Markets.
A pleasure to walk through the Jewish Quarter and to reflect.

Felt very safe here compared to the Arab quarter as well as it being a lot cleaner and civilized.
