the zoo really is in an amazingly beautiful place, and it's nice enough just to walk around in, but the bonus is the well thought out settings that the animals are in, each in area that is very well suited for the type of animal that they are, it is very evident that the animals are cared for and it can be a really fun day for the kids, especially if you take the little zoo train!

In some zoos, the animals are often busy in their own back room, and visitors can't always see them. But as soon as we entered the Jerusalem Zoo, we saw three monkeys, a couple of black swans, and everywhere we looked we could see animals. Now, I know the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo has a high-minded mission, but you'll love this zoo if you like animals, whether or not you care about the mission. We went on a sunny day and found lots of shade. We saw an extended family enjoying a picnic. Some of the wildlife to appreciate is the diverse range of visitors, from secular to ultra-Orthodox; it's nice that everyone can appreciate the wonders of nature together.

To get to the Zoo, our bus plunged down a steep hill--and that's the hill on which the Zoo is built. So if you want to see it all, be prepared to climb up a path for some great views of the scenery as well as the wildlife.

There's food to buy, but you can bring your own and plan to spend all day.

Bring a Bible along and you will appreciate it even more. Better yet, make a scrapbook and review when you return home- it will reawaken the Holy feeling.

The Zoo is very big and extensive, so there is a lot of walking but a lot of fun and plenty of animals, better to visit early when possible, but, good entertainment for adults and children....and enough restrooms in the zoo, very well planned.
