The place looks like a park. It is well maintained. You can see the cemetery plots of Israeli's past leaders. Some of them buried with their spouses. There are also plots for the soldiers who died during the war fighting for Israel. Its a very moving experience just being there.

Any visit to had hertz is bound to reveal the devastating scene of families crying over the graves of their lost loved ones, many who died far too young. As you walk through the rows of headstones and read the names, you notice the military ranks - spanning from private to general - and the ages, often "Ben 18" (an 18 year old boy). The Cemetery includes meaningful tributes to Israel and Zionism's greatest leaders, such as Theodor Herzl himself, and Yitzhak Rabin.

The cemetery is located very close to Yad Vashem and often the two can be visited in the same day.

I went here originally thinking it was just the resting place of Theodore Herzl. In fact it is a military and civilian cemetery for those who have died in war and through terrorism in Israel. It's heart wrenching but I think it is a must see.

This is a very moving place. You reallize that the Israel of today didn't come with out a lot of sacrifice. Many lives were given in order to bring back the dream of modern Zionism

This is an Oasis of tranquillity, peaceful, beautifully kept gardens and a fitting monument to those who created the Israel that we know. It is well worth a visit and the Jerusalem Light railway drops you off and the gates.
