The church itself is a historical masterpiece, peaceful and noble, just 2 minutes from the Holy Sepulchre. it is one of the only ways to see Jerusalem from above. Do not hesitate to climb the 192 steps: it is worth ! from there you will also spot roof tops and terrace, where people can seat and walk. Well, it is very close: you climb stairs some 100 meters north of the Kotel and you will be able to get her for free.As a reward you will be able to smell the scents of the underneath Souk !

A very simple church, specially if compared with the orthodox or catholic or muslim churches.
But, I do understand its their way of celebrating their ceremonies.

The English Speaking Congregation of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer has been a Church home for many NGO volunteers over the years. It has been an important place for me--especially during the years of the Second Intifada. Since I have to work Sunday mornings now in Hebron, I am sorry to miss the services most Sundays when I am in Palestine/Israel, but I highly recommend them for for travelers looking for a way to process spiritually what they have witnessed in the Holy Land.
