“The spot where Mary was born”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2014

We found the Church on the spot where Mary was born to be very significant for many reasons. Of course, it was significant because Mary was born there. However, it was also outside the Church where Isaiah approached the king and made the prediction that the Virgin would be with child and is located adjacent to the Pools of Bethesda, where Christ healed the cripple who was never able to reach the water first when it bubbled up. So much history of importance to so many religious, all located in one area. Another don't miss spot.

“St Anne's is a singers paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2014

If you want to hear beautiful music that is spontaneous, go to St Anne's at Bethesda next to the Lion's Gate and just listen. It costs 8 NIS to get in but it is worth it. The pool of bethesda is there and it is a very educational time.

“Mary's Mother gets her due”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2014

This beautiful church is dedicated to the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus. Saint Anne is depicted in statues and paintings with Mary as a little girl. Tradition has it that Saint Anne is buried in the crypt underneath the church. The courtyard in front of the church is one of the traditional starting points for the Via Dolorosa trip to Calvery.

This is a beautiful church and one in which you will want to sing a hymn in. Just another important part of Biblical history you will want to visit.
