“Great destination for midday”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

When you ate hot and tired from a morningin the old city, head up the Via Dolorosa to this magnificent spot. Steeped in Jewsh, Roman and Christian history, it is a lovely place to cool off and reflect. Check the hours. They close for a while around noon.

“A simple and nice location with church & history”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

The church and monastery are packed with history and significance for Christians. The staff tends to be friendly (there are off days) and the hours can be a little difficult to fit into sometimes.

“A church with great acoustics!”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

If you ever had a chance to visit this place, you must try singing (yes sing!) . The place is designed such that the acoustics is really enhanced. Great piece of architecture from ancient days!

“One of the most amazing churches in Jerusaelm -- and those accoustics!”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

This Crusader Church just inside the Lions Gate is SO worth a stop. First, it is quieter and less overwhelming that many places along the Via Dolorossa. The "White Fathers" who run it are very helpful. And the Pool of Bethesda is, of course, a major New Testament site. But mainly, the stunning accoustics inside the church bring people from all over the world to sing in it. One or two voices will sound like a choir! It's AMAZING!!! And very peaceful and lovely.
