This was my second stay at the Lutheran Guesthouse and it cannot be beaten when it comes to location: right in the old city near all of the major sights and close to Jaffa Gate. The rooms are basic but nice and the breakfast is good. The first room we got was rather small, but the second room was larger. The garden/ patio is a great place to relax and have a drink after wandering around the old city and there is free WiFi everywhere.

The rooms are fairly basic, but the location is unbeatable, just off the Via Dolorosa. The views from the reading room and terrace of the Dome of the Rock and the Church of the Sepulchre are fantastic. It felt quite empty when we were there and the service was sometimes a bit slow, but I would certainly recommend this if you are looking for somewhere in the midst of the Old City.

This was a really cool place to stay.
The price was reasonable and the rooms were clean and nice.
I did not have a room with a view, but the view from the roof was unreal.
I watched the sun rise and set over the Dome and it was one of the highlights of my trip.
I stayed in a fancy place just outside of the city last summer, but staying right inside the Old City was really special.

Room Tip: It seems like the groups get the good rooms, but it doesnʻt really matter, best view is from the roo...

We had 2 nights early August and overall we enjoyed it. Room with balcony had fabulous view of Church of HS, everything v clean and new but just a tad small. No a/c but fan was more than adequate. Comprehensive breakfast.
Receptionist was unhelpful bordering on hostile and ultimately rude. This could be a fantastic hotel, they've certainly spent enough money on it but the staff need training I customer service.

Room Tip: If you have a choice ask for a room with a balcony

Our family of 4 stayed here for 5 nights and it was a perfect location in the Old City. We had 1 room with 4 comfortable beds. Great view from room and better view from terrace. Our room was small but nice. Breakfast was a disappointment. The hotel is right next to the souk and 5 minutes from Jaffa Gate. We didn't meet many staff, but the ones we did were nice. Church bells and call to prayer every morning and night. Lovely

Room Tip: On second floor all have easy access to the terrace overlooking the city.

We stayed for three nights in early July. The hotel is relatively easy to find if you have a map beforehand, sort of in a back alley of a major street. The view is (probably) unparalleled for hotels in the Old City, and the rooms seem relatively recently renovated. Our AC worked fine and everything was clean. Breakfast is adequate, and the price, at just under €100/night, is pretty unbeatable for a hotel in Jerusalem.

Our only 'complaint' is that most of the staff is indifferent and not particularly friendly, and that there's no way to book the room online. (A couple staff members were quite friendly, so I don't mean to be down on everyone, but smiles were rare in our three day stay.)

I slept fine, but be aware that there are church bells and muezzins going basically nonstop all day and night, so if you're a light sleeper, you'll want some ear plugs.

I stayed at this hotel in a double room with private bathroom for approx. 92€/night.
Very well located in the Armenian quarter of the old town in a very quiet and delightful street. Jaffa Gate and Western Wall can be reached within a less than 5 minutes walk.
Our room was quite small but more than OK (and clean everyday), except the AC that did not work. This has not been a problem at all since a fan was also in the room during our stay.
Very very friendly staff, and excellent breakfast served until 9.30 am.
Just one thing: if you pay by credit card in another currency, they do not apply the daily exchange rate in place, but a ‘fixed’ exchange rate, which was not favourable at all…This added more than 4€ for each night to the 92€ that I had to pay. Consider as well an extra-charge of 5 USD if you pay by credit card. If possible, and to avoid these extra and avoidable charges, pay your invoice by cash !
The hotel comprises as well a beautiful and very quiet garden and a terrace with a gorgeous view on the old city.
If possible, ask for a room with a private balcony when you arrive at the hotel.
I more than enjoyed my stay in this guesthouse and I would come again at that place if I have the chance to come back to Jerusalem again.
