“weekend in Montefiore”

I regularly stay at Montefiore hotel with my kids. Very nice hotel and friendly stuff. We all the time get very nice service and even when available i am getting the room earlier as my flight land early in the morning. The location is also great in the city center close to all attractions and shopping places. We also usually eat in the hotel restaruant and the food is also great.

The hotel is run down, and the staff are not welcoming—ever. The staff on the front desk never looked up from their computer screen whenever I entered. My bathroom was very shabby, and shoddy—loose fittings, rough and dirty tile grouting, rough paint work. The elevator was also shabby with an obviously missing hand rail, as you could see how the dirty grey carpet on the walls was cut out around the missing hand rail. The entrance to the breakfast room from the elevator looked like a trade entrance. The breakfast was consistently terrible. I stayed 7 nights, the first 3 mornings I was never greeted, or even asked my room number, the staff on duty stayed behind their computers, one morning there was no coffee. The fruit juice tasted as though it was mixed from a packet, there was never any fresh fruit, only canned fruit. My room, at least was clean, bed was moderately comfortable, which is the only reason I didn't rate this hotel as "terrible". I can't believe the breakfast room doubles as one of Jerusalems' top restaurants. After my breakfast experiences I never even wanted to enter the restaurant.

Room Tip: I'm sure you could do much better in Jerusalem

I stayed there in a family trip, long trip from LA, we came back very tired and to be quite honest the place it was kind of bad, and dirty. I didn't enjoy stay there. The towels were old, the carpet looked dirty, the blankets were old too, the location is ok. The breakfast was kind of poor, no fresh fruit, lots of carbs options and not really healthy stuff for people who eat healthy.
Our tour guide told us that this hotel were new, but I don't know in what. So if you can choose other hotel do it, this place is just to sleep but it doesn't going to give you anything good, so if you don't care the quality of your hotel then this is your choice, if you are looking for a more pleasant stay then look for something else.

The great location - just 5-8 minutes from the Jaffa rd and 15-20 from the Old City. Friendly staff and good rooms. The quality of housekeeping is OK also.

A decent hotel for sure. Clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast is really very poor. Poor quality products and limited selection. Did not seem fresh. Staff not very friendly. They did their job well but a friendly hello is not the way they work. Also the ventilation is very loud and cant be shut down....if you are a light sleeper like me, this will be a problem.

this quaint hotel is tucked into a quiet street that is permanently closed to traffic. It is a few minutes from Jaffa (Yafo) Street and about 20 minute walk to Jaffa Gate, making it very accessible to restaurants and touring the Old City. Because it is near Jaffa Street, it is very convenient for taking taxis or public transportation to the famous sites. The staff were very helpful, internet is freely available (and free of charge) and the breakfast is simple but satisfying. I really have nothing negative to say!
