We visited the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC a few years ago. It was a very emotional experience. Yad Vashem was also a very emotional experience, but was so crowded that it was difficult to see everything I would have liked to have seen. Although it would seem that it was well organized since it was arranged chronologically, there are many little side rooms with interesting exhibits. It was a bit confusing to see things in order in spite of the chronological layout. This was due to the overcrowding. The museum itself is extremely interesting and I highly recommend it. Just try to go when it is not so crowded.
