Owner description: Located in the restored ancient Citadel of Jerusalem at the entrance to the Old City, the Tower of David Museum tells the full story of the city. The exhibitions take the visitor on a journey through 3000 years of history, using models, displays and multi media so that the timeline of the city comes alive. In addition to being a museum of history, the Tower of David relates to both the present and the future. The museum stages temporary exhibitions which integrate the unique location and majesty of the ancient Citadel and its history with a contemporary presentation of artistic and historical issues. It hosts lectures and special events in music, educational activities and programs. The 2 night shows, both the Night Spectacular and KING DAVID are world renowned and present Jerusalem's special character and beauty screened in lights, images and music on the ancient walls in the Citadel courtyard. NEW! you can enter the observation view on top of tower- only 15 NIS!

A spectacular light show illustrates the history of Jerusalem. It begins in prehistoric times going through all the nations that ruled Jerusalem up to the end of WWI.

...which was amazing and definitely worth the price. Much more beautiful than I expected, to be honest. I'm not sure what I was expecting when a friend took me to this, but it wasn't to be stunned and amazed by the incredible art and music. Go. This is no ordinary light show.

first of all i want to say that i found it a little bit expensive for what it offers. secondly, i believe that the night show maybe be worthy or it may be something very very impressive but we didn t go so i will say about our experience for tower of david only! basically the tower is nice place to see a citadel with a courtyard in the middle and seats for the night show and what you do is follow the signs from one room to the other. each room contains descriptions, signs, animations etc about the history of jerusalem and israel. i think nothing special for people who visit jerusalem and have already studied some basic history of the city. but maybe for people with children its a good place to make them understand it.
One or two of the rooms were closed for rennovation which was kind of dissapointing.
Finally i think that if i didnt visit this area i wouldnt feel like i missed something important.there are much more important things to see in jerusalem.

I was there with the family. The setting is magnificent, the buildings are well preserved it's clean and well maintained. But, there are a lot of steps and I am just recovering from a knee injury and ended up in a lot of pain due to a lack of handicapped accessible places. I realize that converting a crusader fort into a handicapped accessible facility is challenging but still it was not easy for me. I can't imagine how a wheel chair would make it through there. The light show as fantastic and very moving, it was really well done and turned a history lesson into a very good show. So, I would have rated this place better if it was not for the lack of handicapped accessible places . If you don't have any issues definitely give this place a visit.

We are sorry that your visit to the Tower of David was less than excellent because of the physical limitations of the Citadel. You are correct that we are restricted in our attempts to make changes to the structure because of its unique historical importance but do know that anyone who is physically challenged can call our reservation center (*2884) to arrange for entrance through the accessible back entrance to both the Museum and the Night Spectacular. We can also arrange for a wheel chair if needed. We appreciate your comments and thank you.

the citadel has tours geared to kids with actors from different times. I sent friends who ended up walking for hours and could not stop raving about it.
