Owner description: Comprising nearly 50,000 square meters and a six-acre sculpture garden, this complex features an impressive variety of collections from prehistoric archaeology to contemporary art.The children's wing is the most interactive section of this sprawling museum. There are special activities for kids during Jewish holidays and school vacations.

It's a stunning place and a must see. The dome of the book holds the Dead Sea Scrolls and the statues are awesome and iconic.

The miniature of the city and how it evolved is amazing too.

This isn't a very interactive place. If you are bored easily it's not for you but if you love history and want to get a feel for Israel and the history, check it out. I could spend hours and hours wandering through.

We loved the Israel museum and enjoyed walking around the gorgeous sculpture garden, the amazing exhibit on Herod the great and also the more contemporary Escher exhibit. The Herod exhibit helped bring together some of the history for the kids and it was so well done.

Very nice way to get an overview of how the city evolved through the ages. I believe it is critical to have a good guide to explain all the historic facets.

I've visited this museum multiple times. The collections are so vast and varied that one must spend a few hours to scratch the surface. There is an extensive overview of Jewish culture and traditions. There is contemporary art, archaeological exhibits, a sculpture garden, and more. There are usually interesting temporary exhibitions as well. This is a museum with something for everyone.
