“Fantastic museum”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

This is a wonderful museum that definitely ranks with the best museums in the world. Amazing Youth Wing, unique archeological exhibits, sculpture garden designed by Isamu Noguchi, excellent collection of Israeli art and almost always top-rated temporary exhibits.

Mix of ancient history and contemporary art, with excellent special exhibits. Herod exhibit is almost done. Don't miss it if you're already in the country

“Amazing!”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

The Herod the Great exhibit is just mind blowing, covering everything from the food to the architecture of the period.
The modern art, and other archeological findings are also very good.
I highly recommend the museum.

“Wonderful Museum and a must visit”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

Kandinsky exhibit was a wonderful plus as was the exhibit on King Herod (the museum has paintings by Rubens and Rembrandt as well) but most go to see the Shrine of the Book - set aside at least a good half day.

“Had to Return!”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

On my second trip to the Israel Museum I was enthralled by the exhibition on Herod the Great especially the findings at Herodium and the computer technology in recreating archaeological discoveries to what they once looked like! It was also grand to see the massive work by Botecelli of "The Annunciation" on loan from a Museum in Florence, Italy. These are in addition to the regular collection which is quite diverse in scope. Especially noteworthy is the building holding the collection of the Dead Sea scrolls and the enormous outdoor model of Jerusalem at the time of the Second Temple.
