“Don't miss this exquisite museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Went to the Herod Exhibit which was tastefully done. But that was just a small part of this exhaustive museum. Complete Temples have been moved and set up a wonderful chronicalogical (sp) history of not just the Jews of a full history of mankind. And then to top it off the Dead Sea Scrolls.

“Don't miss this! (The Herod exhibit is worth it)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

When I only have a few days in a city, I don't usually spend time inside a museum. I am glad I chose to visit the Israel museum during my brief trip to Jerusalem for the following reasons:

1) Seeing the Dead Sea Scrolls was amazing and inspiring
2) Walking around the scale model of the 2nd temple period is very helpful in understanding
3) The new Herod exhibit was fantastic
4) The grounds are beautiful
5) The coffee shop had a great gluten free dessert.

“Informative and interesting”

Very nice museum of Jewish and Israeli history, art and artefacts. It is disappointing that the Dead Sea Scrolls are now just a copy, but interesting nonetheless. Plenty to look at and a great shop.

Had not been there in many years, the renovation is fantastic....I took a tour of the highlights provided for free by the museum. Really interesting and informative.
