“It belongs in the top ten of the world.”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

The Israel Museum from the outside alone, can satisfy any visitor. On the perfect day, the old historic and biblical model of the old city, is just stunning. This model explains a lot from a religious as well as historical point of view. Large enough to see every detail no matter how many groups are visiting at the same time. The Dead Sea Scrolls are housed outside as well and is a fairly intimate experience for any visitor. The architecture of the permanent exhibition building is just stunning and one of its kind. The sculpture garden is rich with sculptures of the greatest artist and allows you cool off under an olive tree away from others. The main museum itself has priceless Judaica as well as modern art. The spacious layout gives every person the chance to see everything. Ongoing and new exhibitions are often given their own designed spaces and are inventive and world-class.

“Excellent museum”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

This museum is renovated and has become excellent. The very best is the unic Shrine of the Book dedicated to the Dead Sea Scrolls. Also the archaeological exhibition is excellent, and the the outdoor built model of Jerusalem in the time of Jesus and the second temple is a must. The art wing is also worth seeing.

As a senior (but not Israelian) I got half prize reduction for the entrance fee.
You can choose one section only or see it all. You can stay here for one hour or the whole day long. There is a café which also serves soup and lunch.

“So much to see”
Reviewed April 2, 2012

It would take numerous days to absorb all the museum has to offer. The Dead Sea Scrolls were our highlight. We also enjoyed the sculpture garden and miniature model of the Old City. The museum is definitely worth a visit.

“A Wonderful Museum”

The recreated model of Jerusalem is spectacular. You can - and should - get lost looking at the artifacts and Dead Sea Scroll center.

Incredible display of artefacts and treasures, all beautifully displayed. English signs on all displays. Allow plenty of time - at least 5 hours.
