Review of Jerusalem Gardens Hotel & Spa

I am very grateful, especially to Fedi at the front desk and Rakafet, the manager for their help during my trip. I had needed to make an urgent international phone call and they were both so kind and helpful with me. I will never forget their kindness and understanding! The other great things about the hotel is the comfort level, the firm beds and cozy rooms, and the wide variety of the breakfast buffet and the proximity to public transportation - excellently located. The things about they could use a little improvement upon is their door/key system, the quality of the decor and the gym equipment. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with them (I've stayed with them several times now) and would highly recommend the hotel.More

Friendly and professional receptionist
The welcome at the reception of this hotel was warm and friendly. Throughout the 5 days stay the reception and in particular Hasna gave us good tips to find the nice spots in Jerusalem and tips how to travel to Bethlehem smoothly.
For personal reasons we looked for a specific address that Hasna was able to find for us.
Thank you so much for helping us as it made our stay at Jeruzalem special.

Not a very friendly place to stay (if you want rest)
The hotel seems to have its best days behind it. The swimming pool outside and indoor were good, but there were large groups of children receiving swimming lessons all morning, every day. And there were groups of Israeli scouts (or so), that made tremendous noise with nobody doing anything against it. We had the impression the hotel did not care for individual travellers like us, but only wanted to harbour as many large groups as possible. So no, this is not a place to return to, even if the location (near the light rail to the Old Town) is good.

Not the luxury it promises
We were here for a couple nights with a large group. While first impression is that the hotel is luxurious (water cooler in the lobby lol!), such is not the case. The hotel seems to have once been grand but now has fallen on harder times. At least 80% of our group had to get something fixed, be it an old and thin cot or missing towels or their door card not working (which was constant, even wen we kept separate from our phones). I am not sure our room was cleaned it seemed to have been left with beds unmade and our towels not replaced.
The food was ok; lots of selection but not the tastiest. Staff at front desk and restaurant were rude when they could even be located.
The outdoor and indoor pool are great to have but the outdoor pool was fenced off by 5pm each night and the turf around it is old and lifting. Pool loungers were showing their age as well, very saggy.
The gym we did not use but it looked quite good for a hotel gym.

Overall probably would not recommend unless you don't mind calling down to the lobby for services you are entitled to.

Dilapidated , not clean, poor service
Stay away from this hotel. It’s expensive, and NOT worth the value, service, and pictures that they post. We were there 5 nights, and they came twice to make up our room, and that was done with complaints. They have a good buffet breakfast, but someone left the door open and there were flies were all over some of the food on the buffet . This place is a former shell of its “glory days”. It badly needs a huge “face lift”, but they charge a big pick price as if it’s worth it. The outside pool is cold.

Very disappointing indeed
If you want 1970s old and sticky carpets and dirty rooms this is the place for you . towels are inadequate . bathroom dirty . surfaces unclean . wont stay here again . pool area is not kept clean and gym is antiquated with rusted equipment . but you can park your car and hotel is by the light rail. Just don't expect much
