Loved - watching the sunrise from the viewing point at the top, we were the only ones there and the view is amazing over the Jewish Cemetary, definitley worth getting a taxi to the top and walking down
Disliked - nothing, however the sea of tour busses that we could see going down the hill once we had reached the bottom and gone to all the churches would have been a nightmare to be caught in, definitley worth going early !

Well, at least, walk something similar. Sights to see include the cemetery with all the tombstones facing Jerusalem, the Dominus Flevit (the Lord wept) commemorating Jesus' weeping over the future destruction of Jerusalem, and the Garden of Gethsemane at the foot together with the church of All Nations.

Good for photos - we walked up it, bit steep but good exercise and it means you can take photos on your way up!

The tours come and fill up the lookout in the morning, but if you go up mid afternoon, it's much quieter. Of course, the churches are all closed then, so you miss out on them.

Normally I don't like to take paid tours as I'd rather do it on my own, but we took the Sandeman's Mount of Olives tour and it was totally worth it. We wouldn't have known what we were looking at and would have missed at least one of the "important" churches.
