“This is THE PLACE..... Don't miss it”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

To not believe that this is the place that Jesus was crucified and laid in the tomb is to not believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. We went to a bunch of places that "could have been" where Jesus was. This was a definite in my mind. Golgotha, the garden, the tomb..... It is marvelous. This is the most important sight in Jerusalem maybe even in Israel. This is a FREE site. They do ask for donations. Very nice and reasonable gift shop. This was the last stop before we headed back to Tel Aviv.

“Interesting story”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

In the 19th century General Charles Gordon and some other interested British men and women became convinced that this was the true site of Golgotha where Christ was killed. It was purchased and turned into the present site. It is a quiet oasis in the noisy East Jerusalem area. Entrance, last time I went, was free. They have a small book shop and tours. One can see the hill that looks like a skull, "skull hill", and the tomb itself, as well as an old cistern. The grounds are well kept.

“Very accessible for disabled and older travelers”

Easy to get to and walk around. Beautiful. Could have done the fencing better near Golgotha...kind of cheesy there.

“Balm to my soul”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

After the horrors of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, this was a quiet, gentle place to remember the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I don't know if it's authentic - would love to believe it - but in any case it was a lovely place to worship. Our church group took comunion here and it was the highlight of our trip. THank you for not building a church on top of this site!!

“A must for every Christian”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

Want to feel God's presence while in the Holy City? Go to the Garden Tomb. There are many who say it is not the 'correct' place, but no one really knows where it was that Jesus was buried. This place is beautifully landscaped, with knowledgeable guides and it will provide a deep spiritual experience if you are ready to receive it.
