While the atmosphere inside is kind of chaotic, this is most important church on earth and should not be missed. We were curious about the various denominations and their respective privileges and responsibilities; it seems like there are some serious internal politics going on amidst all the pilgrims and tourists.

This is truly a special place, but make sure both men and women have their knees and shoulders covered or you will be asked to leave. Best to get here early as it can get very crowded. Long lines to see the tomb but if you are in a private tour of 3 or 4 people only your guide will ask the priest to let you slip in. But even if you have to queue up, the line moves fast and it is so worth it

f you’re visiting the Old City you have to make a stop here. We were with our guide who gave us a history of the place. Every kind of person visited the place, from those interested in its history to the faithful. It’s not classically beautiful as some gothic churches, but I still found it enjoyable.

It's a must go because you want to know about the stories about Jesus being buried here and how the Christians have been fighting over the "ownership" of this place. Very historical. Also worth seeing how some Christians worship the place on all fours. However, I found the place spiritually uninspiring even as a Christian, and even a little unfriendly and spooky.

History was made at this beautiful and meaningful site. So much to see, make sure you have done your homework so you don't miss any of the story. In the midst of preservation while we visited but still a worthwhile stop on your visit to Holy sites in Jerusalem.
