Inside the church it is very well organised. Controlling queue times by moving people along.
Very strange though, you have to combat the pushing and shoving when it is supposed to be a peaceful place. Anyway, well worth the visit. Some fantastic paintings and ornate decorations.
The marble slab that Jesus died upon is open to touch and pray at. Allow a good one hour to look around.

Please make sure that your shoulders are covered. You can just carry a shawl and place it on as needed.

Our tour had us on a walk through the back shop areas ,,near the via deal rosa,,
Much history and sights to see at the Holy Sepulchre,,paintings, the tomb area, the area where Christ arose from the crypt. So much more that can be explained ,,it is a must see for any one of God..

Went here with friends. It was a moving experience. The church is built on the spot of the crusifixion and burial of Jesus Christ. It is very ornate. I was able to attend a Catholic mass steps away from where Christ died. The best time to go is early in the morning, beating the crowds.

This Church is AMAZING! I feel a little weird for "rating" a church...it seems a little sacrilegious, but I wanted to let you know how amazing it is! It feels like a different world when you step inside...so many rooms and windy corridors. You could get lost in it! It's very dark and there are hundreds of lanterns and candles. Some of the church is even located underground, which is really fun to walk through. It's a beautiful and moving place. I didn't want to leave! This is definitely a "must see" even if you aren't religious.
