“Not to be missed”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

Walking down the streets of a 4000 year old city is an experience not to be missed. Following the footsteps of King David, the various prophets, the Macabees, Romans, Sulemane, the Crusaders,Herod and Jesus, not to mention Ben Gurion, and the various other larger than life figures. The souks are amazing, the tombs, churches and holy places astounding. Nothing really prepares you for what you will experience. Be prepared, Jerusalem is built on a fairly large hill. It will be hot, and you will walk a lot. Take water.

Everyone needs to visit the Old City of Jerusalem. It is incredible...and you understand that everything got started here. This is an amazing place...so many of the world's religions live in this small area. It is amazing.

“A day in the old city of Jerusalem”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

There is so much to see I don 't know where to begin... OK - start of course with the Kotel - the Wailing Wall - to pray there and to put a "request" or a wish to be fulfilled. Then there is the Archeological Park - the Davidson Center where you see how exactly the Temple looked. It is fabulous! Then go see the HaChurva Synagogue which was rebuilt and it is gorgeous! The Minharot Hakotel (underground tunnels of old Jerusalem 3000 years ago are a must! Ir David - The City of David - tour of 3 hours of ancient Jerusalem` The Institute of the Temple - where you can learn about everything that was in the Temple; There is The Burned House story depicting the fall of Jerusalem. Don't miss the night show at the Tower of David museum. It is something you will never forget...

“Various cultures, religions converging, go visit at least once.”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

Old Jersulam is fascinating, all the religions sharing the same land. The ultra orthodox are the ones that are more closed off to the rest of the world. Jerusalem is expensive!! As is the rest of Israel, one of the most expensive places ever and they charge an entry fee for everything!
There are cats everywhere, if you have allergies take Zyrtec or Claritin.
Overall a fascinating place to visit, no more than three days max!

“Historical and fun”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

The Old City of Jerusalem was quite a varied place. Although some sections felt very 'touristy' and not entirely safe, the Jewish quarter was wonderful. The food was fantastic, and the shopping was fascinating. Most of the shops have items for religious use, or jewelry - this isn't the place to go clothes-shopping. But if you're looking for a really unique experience with unbelievable history all around, this is the place to go.
