“A must see sight! Obviously”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

This was amazing to see, the different cultures here have all different traditions and ceremonies going on almost every day. The people were friendly and respectful. Well worth a longer visit here to just sit and observe.

“Western (wailing) wall,jerusalem”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

We arrived later in evening and still a busy place, short walk from the street, very powerful history and such a sacred place,, women have a cover for your heads, men/ women are separated at the wall, so you go in at different areas with a small fence between the areas,,

“Snow at the Western Wall”
Reviewed November 30, 2013

Women are separated from men; women go to the smaller area of the wall, at the right. Prayers on little bits of paper stuck into the wall tend to fall out easily. Snow removal a struggle, as it snows so seldom in Jerusalem that snow shovels are not available.

“Largest Open Air Synagogue in the World”
Reviewed November 30, 2013

A part of the western retaining wall from the second Temple that survived Titus' sacking of Jerusalem, it is the closest spot to the Temple Mount that Jews can pray. Notes to G-d are crammed into the cracks between the stones by worshipers, and the large plaza easily accommodates the various sects of Judaism who all make the same prayers in their own particular ways. Very spiritual, inviting and moving. Note that the site is under the practical control of Orthodox Judaism, so women and men are in separate sections of the Wall. The site is an obvious must-do for Jews and Gentiles alike.
