A very unique and pleasant place to stay. Something to remember.
Most of the rooms are very nice. The atmosphere is very special and the staff is so nice . The location , overlooking the wall of the old city, is amazing.
Even the breakfast was pefect.
We will return for sure!

Room Tip: All of them but not room no 10.

If you are into soaking up atmosphere while in Jerusalem, you'd be hard pressed to do better than the Scottish Guesthouse. The building was originally commissioned by the British during their occupation (there's that word again) of Palestine. It retains all of it's charming "oldness" while feeling clean and comfortable at the same time. There is probably not many better views of the old city than there is from the roof of the guesthouse. This property is about a 20 minute walk from the old city. It is about a 10 minute walk from the German Colony area of Jerusalem which is a very pleasant part of town to hang out- lots of shops and cafes and completely different from the old city. 5 - 10 minutes in the other direction will get you to the King David/Mamilla area- which is upscale and artsy. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and engaging. We enjoyed breakfast and it usually sustained us (easily) until dinnertime. We stayed here for 3 nights and we throughly enjoyed our entire visit!

Room Tip: We stayed in a "double room" on the top floor (near the roof). It was quiet and comfortabl...

No words can describe our weekend in Jerusalem, as usual we stayed at the St. Andrew's, it was our anniversary, and the staff made it unforgettable. The uniqueness of the place, the enchanting garden and the friendliness of the staff simply exceeded our expectations. All we had to do is request and the staff made it happen. I highly recommend this place to anyone who would like to enjoy a quiet moment but still be in a walking distance from all main events.

I read the reviews and stayed here on the advice of a colleague. I have stayed in numerous hotels (cheap & expensive) throughout Israel, and am not sure why this one is so well reviewed. The breakfast was appalling - rotting fruit, dry/old vegetables and cheese that were clearly days old and stale sliced bread, in addition to food(?) in the heated trays that had dessicated to within an inch of it's life - nothing like the fabulous breakfast spreads you typically find in Israel's hotels. There is no fridge in the room for water etc (my room was very basic, but clean) which can be a problem in summer when it's hot and as mentioned in another review you cannot fill your bottle from their water fountain. The rooms don't have a safe and definitely need renovating. I could just fit in the bathroom. The only reason to stay here is the location - you can walk to Emek Refa'im for good restaurants etc. and to the old/new cities, but it is further than 10mins! Next time, I would cough up a few more $ and stay somewhere else, but if you're on the cheap expect to get what you pay for.

We really enjoyed our stay here! You feel like you're staying in a castle. The garden in the back of the property is enchanting. Wonderful staff, great breakfast, and a clean comfortable room. We had a room with a balcony which we thoroughly enjoyed as well. Very pleasant walk to the Old City. We could only stay here two nights because all the other nights were booked -- so I recommend to book in advance.

The guest house is located in a wonderful position overlooking the old city. The staff is friendly and the breakfast was good. The room are just ok, clean but they need a complete renovation especially because of the price. In any case considering the hotel situation in Jerusalem I would reccomend to stay here.
