This place is certainly quirky, from the faux ruins to the massive dining rooms, its all a bit, well, odd. Nice staff, good service, excellent breakfast all helped make our stay at the Olive Tree a very pleasant one. The corridors are graced by the deepest piled carpet you can imagine, and the whole place has a very quiet ambiance. Throughout our stay there was a mattress propped up against the fire door in the corridor outside our room which was slightly disconcerting, but other than that, I have nothing but positives really. Room service food was surprisingly good and not that expensive. All in all, i'd stay there again.

As hotels go the best that can be said is that it was comfortable. The bed was restful the room average, (without a fridge) the food was boring with little variety. Tinned fruit was the order of the day. The dining experience breakfast or dinner was nothing to look forward too. The front of house staff had neither manners or personality, they had no interest in engaging their guests, please or thank you did not come easily to them. The whole place gave out the vibe that they couldnt care less.

They charged 9US$ an hour to use their computers. The computers were filthy as was the business center and neither not been cleaned in a long time. I consider such a charge outrageous. I stayed at the Grand Court hotel next door 2 years ago and it was a much nicer property with a far better service. The whole restaurant experience at breakfast and dinner was rushed and harried. If you have a choice when in Jerusalem I think there are far better options. Yes It was comfortable, it had a nice ambiance but it offered a poor and very disinterested service. Do yourself a favour. Give it a miss

The hotel was not what we expected. With years of traveling through Israel and staying at various hotels through out the country. We do not always get what we were promised on that internet photo. The hotel staff was friendly. The atmosphere was like a seen out of Morrocco. This hotel was reasonably priced for Jerusalem. The accommodations were excellent, the room was large with a pull out sofa for our two kids, very clean. The breakfast was great, something for everyone.Even if you do not like the customary Israeli breakfast.I would highly recommend The Olive Tree Hotel.Last but not least the hotel is very well secured.

We checked into the hotel after a day or travelling with no reservation. They had only one room left when we arrived and were happy to accomodate us. The hotel is very pretty but understated. The best part of our room was the huge patio/balcony which gave us a nice view of the city. The beds are very comfortable but the bathroom is quite small. The bath products were excellent though. We were impressed with the helpful, knowledgeable staff - event the valet and bell staff went out of their way to help us. It may not be the five star hotel that I am used to but for the money this was a great find!

Booked on line and we were not disappointed. They in fact gave us a top floor room with a large outdoor patio. Service from Housekeeping, front desk and restaurant were great.
The location was close enough to walk to the Old City.

Well,we had a 3nights stay in this hotel, but it is so isolated so unclean, so old and so neglected that it can make your holiday turn into a desaster. The toilets were unclean, dust stuck on our fingers from the closet and from every piece of furniture, floors unwashed, toilets unflushed, hair in the bathtub.Plus the rooms are cold.Stuffy air inside. The other big disadvantage that it is in the middle of nowhere,so no walk,no nothing.Just keep yrself away from this 1falling star hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I stayed at The Olive Tree recently as part of a group tour. The place is beautiful and within walking distance of the Old City. The service was wonderful, the food great and everyone was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Jerusalem.
