We recently stayed at the Eldan hotel in Jerusalem. The staff was very friendly, very professional, and helped us every way possible. The lobby and dining room are clean and nicely decorated, and open up to a lovely patio area. The breakfast was ample and delicious-a typical Israeli breakfast with a variety of salads, fruit, cheese, yogurts, etc. The attentive waiters will bring you omelets, lates, coffee, etc. and all is included. The rooms are small, as one would expect in that area of Jerusalem, but nicely decorated, and very clean. The location is ideal! It is walking distance to the old city (Jaffa Gate), the German colony, Ben Yehuda St, the new light rail, the YMCA, and HUC just to name a few places. It is also right across the street from the famous King David Hotel. Considering the location, nice rooms and great staff, the price is excellent. We would stay there again!

We were thrilled with our stay at Eldan. You can't beat the location (the heart of Jerusalem) for the price. The rooms are small, but very clean, quiet, modern and very comfortable. And we had a view of the beautiful YMCA building next door. The staff was excellent (especially HIla at the front desk!)-helpful, friendly and accommodating. The only minus, was that Israeli hotel breakfasts are usually known for their freshness and abundance, and we did find the breakfast to be very mediocre. It was much more limited in selection and simple, but it certainly didn't leave us wanting for anything, and the service in the dining room was also fantastic. It did the trick, just don't expect the typical Isreali breakfasts.

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor with a view of the YMCA. maybe there are better spots, but we were thrille...

Great location, easy access to tram and new and old cities.
Staff friendly , helpful and fairly knowledgeable.
Feel hotel needs smartening up, if it is 4 star grading.
Lack of shampoo, conditioner and body lotion in room.
Good but limited breakfast.

Outstanding location, friendly helpful staff and comfortable rooms. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, except for one restaurant in Ein Kerem. The front desk staff provided great concierge-type service.

Room Tip: One side looks toward the Old City.

The hotel was in a great location. In walking distance to the Western Wall, The Old City, shopping etc. The staff was terrific, friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was modest, nothing fancy, but clean and worth the cost per night. The bonus free underground parking if there is room

I have been visiting Jerusalem for over 30 years and have stayed in many different hotels and apartment rentals. They are all very good and comfortable. I have come to realize, however, that very little time during my stay is actually spent in the hotel and I was paying for amenities that I had no time to use. All I wanted was someplace neat, clean, comfortable and affordable in walking distance to everywhere. The Eldan was all this and more! The reception staff was very friendly and accommodating to all of my requests. The beds were comfortable, shower was nice and warm, daily breakfast and Shabbos dinner were delicious. Casual walk to the Kotel was 25 minutes. What I liked best was the price! I see no reason to spend any more money on a hotel or apartment than what is offered at the Eldan.

Room Tip: Until the entire hotel has been refurbished, make sure to request a refurbished room well in advance...
