“Great Value/ Great Location”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

The hotel is centrally located, safe and secure and about 15 min walk to the Old City or $8 cab ride. Surrounded by great restaurants in the German area and having parking it met every one of our needs. The rooms were clean, the service great and the breakfast excellent. The only negative comment I have is that the lady at the front desk was very arrogant and sarcastic in her answers to our questions, whereas all the other staff were very obliging. If you pick Jerusalem as attracion, try to stay more than three days, Is a lot of things to see and do. I would stay there again without question!

We stayed in four hotels while we were in Israel. Although this was a nice hotel, there were aspects of it that it our least favorite. Our room was very, very small. We were located on the first floor which is ground level with a parking lot. With people frequently walking by our window we were forced to keep the blinds closed the entire time which made the room very dark. The bathroom had a tub/shower combination which was quite small and leaked all over the floor each time we showered. Every night we had to call downstairs for additional towels to mop up the mess. No matter how we turned the showerhead or moved the shower curtains we couldn't stop it from flooding the floor. On a positive note, the staff was extremely warm, friendly and efficient. Each time we made a request it was attended to immediately. The hotel is located in an ideal location for walking to the old city and many shops and restaurants. The food in the dining room was very good and many choices were available. On one morning we needed to leave the hotel very early so they opened up the dining room 30 minutes early so our group could have breakfast before we left. Although there was no wifi in the room, free wifi was available in the lobby and there was ample space for all guests to work. Overall, the hotel is a good choice because of its proximity to old town and the friendly staff.

Out of 3 Dan hotels where we stayed in Israel in the last 3 weeks, this was the second best, but probably the best value. Within walking distance of the old city and across from a park. Room was OK, service was OK, breakfast was good. No swimming pool. Only hotel that had a pool table in the bar, but bartender didn't seem to know his job too well.

Room Tip: If you have bags that you want to carry, be careful of the third floor rooms near the fitness center...

Perfect restaurant for the busienss traveler or people looking to be near the old city. Beautifully clean and spacious hotel rooms, obviously recently renovated. Walking distance from all main sites. No pool, at not needed - when Jerusalem has so much to offer! breakfast is extensive (flaw is its a dark room - shame not more windows to the old city). Very much worth it if looking for a great, accessible, spot near the Old City and all the main sites (Renovated Turkish Train Station, Old City Gates, King David Hotel, City Center, JVP Media Quarter, Zappa Music Club etc,)

We have stayed at the hotel on Shabbat (Saturday) which mean that the hotel cannot serve hot meals (they are not allowed to cook on Shabbat) but still I have been in many other hotels in Israel and I would expect more from Dan hotel.

Beside that we enjoyed the location of the hotel (15 minutes walk from the Jaffa gate which lead to the western wall).
The hotel is very clean, the service is good and overall it was great vacation.

Recommended without meals :-)

Good friendly hotel in walking distance from the old city. Our room had plenty of space as well as a balcony. Free WiFi only in the public areas, that's a bit of a minus. There are some very good (yet a bit pricy) restaurants not far from the hotel (Montefiore, Eucalyptus). Try the israeli wines!

Dear Jason1980

Thank you so much for taking the time to write us about your experience at the Dan Boutique hotel.

We are very happy to read that you enjoyed your stay with us, and our fabulous central location. We do have many restaurants close to the hotel. Additionally, the new 'Tachana', "The first station" has just opened opposite the hotel and looking to be the next 'place to be seen' in Jerusalem.

We hope to welcome you back soon on your next visit to Jerusalem.
