The room was large, well maintained, and did not feel “worn” at all. Lighting for makeup was fair. English language television included Fox News and Sky News, as well as RT (Russian Television, in English), but not CNN (this appears to be common in Israel). Individual room heating (we were there in February) was easy to set. Breakfast had a grand selection, the large room was reasonably laid out so you could readily find items of interest (as well as being well labeled), and the wait staff was attentive and helpful. The hotel is about a mile from the Jaffa Gate, which we felt was a reasonable walk. There is a LARGE grocery store nearby - directly across the main street from the entrance is a small side street. Follow that side street about a block to the grocery - well priced, also. We were there as part of a group, so I can't comment on the price/value of the room.

The only criticism is that free wireless internet is only available in the lobby. But the lobby is large, and you don't feel crowded as many people sign on.

Note: there are 2 other Dan hotels in Jerusalem.

Room Tip: Tip: request a room with a room number ending in 09 to 15, e.g. 415. These rooms not only have a vie...

The staff here made our two-day visit a distinct pleasure. We enjoyed the room accommodations, with the great view and proximity to the Old City, but we were very struck by the hospitality shown us during our stay. Once we identified ourselves at the excellent breakfast on the first morning, for example, Nabeel not only greeted us warmly but also remembered us thereafter with our choice of coffee. As we were on a working vacation, we sometimes worked in the bar area using the wifi there, and we would discover a fresh cup of coffee delivered to us even later in the day. The manager was sometimes present and engaged in conversation with guests, and Nael, who assisted us with directions and luggage and sundry other challenges, was also very friendly and helpful. They all made us feel very much at home.

I had a lovely stay in the Dan Boutique Hotel while attending a conference. I had a room on the 5th floor of the hotel with a floor to ceiling window and a beautiful view of the Old City. The room was well-appointed, the bedding nice and the bed was very comfortable. I did not hear any noise from my room. The breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main dining room were all delicious with lots of selection. The service was excellent throughout the hotel from the main dining room, the lobby bar to the front desk. There is a lovely deck on the 3rd floor which has a great view of several areas of Jerusalem. There are ample chairs set up there so it makes a great place to relax on a sunny afternoon...and a great place to watch the sunset. The hotel is located in walking distance to the Western Wall and some synagogues. The lobby is a comfortable place to relax and visit with friends...there are plenty of different seating areas. All in all, I had a great stay at this hotel and look forward to returning.

Dear Karen B,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review; It's a wonderful feeling when the hard work results in satisfied guests so it is greatly appreciated.

We were delighted to read that you enjoyed the unique, personalized service throughout the hotel, especially in our restaurant.

As noted, the Dan Boutique hotel is in close proximity to many good restaurants and a quick walk to the old city of Jerusalem, the location is indeed one of the things the hotel has become famed for.

We were happy to read that you enjoyed the old city view from the hotel deluxe rooms and our unique Sun deck on the 3rd floor. The magnificence of Jerusalem is certainly unparralelled.
We hope to welcome you back soon, returning guests are the biggest compliment a hotel can get.
Best regards,

The hotel is very well located if you want to be in a calm place and not far from the old city.
Well communicated to the King George, BenYehuda, Mea Shearim, Gueoula, Mahane Yehuda thru the buses that can be taken at 3mn from the hotel.
There are also taxis dedicated to this hotel and a shuttle to the airport very convenient (65 shq instead of 320 of the cab).
Rooms are very clean and modern, and the service is always willing to help.
Wifi is available, breakfast is complete with a lot of products of quality.
This is the second time I go back to this hotel and probably will be returning BH.
Also, even if we arrive very early in the morning due to flight timetable, we were given the room around 10 in the morning while normally checkin starts at 14:00. Also as we were leaving very early in the morning they prepared us breakfast bags, which is very appreciated.

Despite receiving a confirmation for a two-night stay at the Dan Boutique, the reservation office called to say that a four-night minimum would be required as the hotel was almost full and management decided to only accommodate longer stays. After unsuccessfully trying to get a reservation elsewhere, we decided to book the four days as we really wanted to go to Jerusalem and did not have enough flexibility in our schedule to go at another time. I was assured that given the circumstances, we would receive the best possible room and service for our inconvenience. We did received a platter of fresh fruit from the management but that was the only good thing that could be said for our stay. The hotel's public areas are dark as are the rooms and all would benefit from a major update. Individual staff members were friendly and helpful, but not all, and there were significant problems in getting access to taxis at the hotel. Furthermore the hotel turned out to be occupied at only 70% capacity -- not full as represented to us when our confirmed reservation was nullified. It would appear that the business decisions at the Dan Boutique are based upon criteria other than providing good customer service or convenience. Needless to say, we will make a different choice of hotels next time we are in Jerusalem.

Very decent and reasonably priced hotel with more then sufficient breakfast bar, rooms are on smaller size but with nice, modern decor. Hotel is placed outside of Old City but only by 5 minutes cab drive. There are few restaurant in walking distance( one of them "Colony" open on sabbath). The staff was always willing to help.
