Stanard rooms have no view whatsoever.
If ou are staying on the first floor do not purchase wifi internet as you will pick up the (free) lobby one. Smilarly, jerusalem is full with open wifi sites, just walk around with our cell phone and pick up what you need.
Breakfast is fantastic.

The location is great and the rooms are clean with enough channels if you like to keep up with news back home. Service is good and people are nice, almost all. Some russian guy at the reception that runs it like in the old soviet and doesn't have a sense of "you time" . I asked him to get my bill ready within an hour and it never happened. He said that's because he wasn't sure if I was Israeli, so I told him they had a picture of my American passport, he said it didn't show a tourist visa. Huh? say what? he made me wait another 15 minutes while he went to print the bill. What a freaking bureaucracy in Israel. They run the show like in the USSR.

on top of a hill watching Jerusalem ancient city- with luxury of 5 stars hotel.
the morning bufet- a plenty of styles cuisines, you can't taste all.
the room- very tidy' clean and spoiling.
yet- you need to walk 20 minutes to the old city.

Room Tip: those rooms watching the old city!

Dear Avi ,
Thank you for your review of your recent stay with us.
We were delighted to read that you enjoyed our hotel location, opposite Mount Zion and the Old City Walls; Our guests certainly enjoy the spectacular views of magnificent Jerusalem.
So pleased that you relished in the Israeli breakfast that hotels in Israel are so famed for, you'll just have to come back and try everything else; thank you for your warm words.
We look forward to welcoming you back soon at our hotel.
Best regards,

We stayed at this hotel for one night at the end of Oct. We were really looking forward to it based on the good reviews, but it did not live up to expectations. We arrived around noon, told our room wasn't ready, left our suitcases and went exploring. When we returned in the evening, we were told that our suitcases would arrive in our room in a few minutes. The room was clean and nicely furnished, but was cold as the A/C was on. It was colder than the outdoor temps of low 70s. We set the thermostat to 30 degrees Celsius, and went to give our baby daughter a bath while waiting on the suitcases. We finished the bath, had her wrapped in a towel, and the suitcases were still not there. It took 45 minutes and two phone calls for them to finally bring the suitcases. In the meantime, the room was still cold, but we figured it would just take a while to warm up, and we got our baby daughter ready for bed. She fell asleep with 3 fleecy PJs on her (since it was freezing) and then we called down again to see if we were doing something wrong with the heater. We were then told that the hotel had not yet switched from A/C to heat. Of course there was nothing in the room to indicate that. We have stayed at hotels in England, France, Spain, Italy, Israel, Canada and the US and have never encountered a 4 star hotel with no heat when outside temps are in the 60's at night. At this point, our daughter was asleep, so we did our best to bundle up to a not very restful night sleep. The room was colder than the outside even more so now, since we had kept hoping the heat would kick in. To add insult to injury, the hotel was noisy. There were a few other things that were disappointing, but this review is long enough.
In the morning, the breakfast was good. We then asked the management for a discount given the lack of heat and the fact that we had to wait for almost an hour for suitcases. During the 10 minutes that they made us wait with our baby, we heard them discussing that they would give us 10 or 20% off. In the few times were we've had problems with hotels in the US (and once in London), we received the night free. Therefore, getting 20% off a very expensive hotel night was not adequate. I would not recommend this hotel even when it's warm out as they do not value customer service.

Dear Sillehh,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write about your experiences; it is truly through guests feedback such as this that we are able to develop our offerings for the future.
At this time of changing seasons it is difficult to judge the temperature guage for each individual room and guest. Like most hotels worldwide, we operate a general heating and cooling system maintaining the whole hotel at a time on the same pressure. Unfortunately, at times, this can be comfortable for some guests but not others; we are most apologetic that this did not seem to suit your needs at this time and just hope we may get another opportunity of making you more comfortable.
With regards to the suitcases and waiting time, I can only imagine that this was due to a communication breakdown for which we are truly sorry; further training and discussions with team members has been carried out to try to ensure of no further reoccurrences of this nature.
Whilst it goes a little late to rectify for you on this time, we can assure you that your experiences are not in keeping with the usual, high, personalized standards of service we strive to acheive and as such, we'd love to hear from you when next looking to stay in Israel so that we may do everything we can to provide you with a better impression of our hotel. Please do contact me on BJ-GR.Shimrit@danhotels.com so that I may be able to help.
With many thanks,
Shimrit - Guest Relations Manager

our one night stay was OK at this small, clean and comfortable hotel. in no way it had a boutique feel that is expected by the name and price. breakfast as well was mediocre at best. would have expected more attention to details in the decor, service and again - breakfast

I can't find much wrong with the Hotel, but I think it is a little overpriced, but then again it's supply and demand what makes the prices. Rooms and bath rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is good. We did not have dinner at the Hotel, so I can not comment. We did not get good directions from the front desk how to walk to the German Colony Street and Restaurants. There is a short cut across the street from the Hotel through a large parking lot. It only takes 10 minutes to get there.

Okay, we slept well. Rather I slept well, but my wife found the bed too hard, and woke up too frequently. The Internet in the lobby was free and worked well. No free Internet in the rooms. The breakfast is really pretty decent. It's not the best breakfast by far, but one of the best free buffet style hotel I've had. At $230USD it's pricey for the quality of a Red Lion hotel (those are around $65 to $115)

Dear seakeninbend,
We appreciate our guest remarks, as they help us in the process of improving our service; we therefore thank you for taking the time to post your feedback here on Tripadvisor.
As noted, everyone has preferences for bed and matress hardness; we're pleased you slept ok and sorry your wife wasn't as enamoured, it is difficult to find a balance to suit everyone at times.
The Dan Boutique hotel is especially known for its special intimate atmosphere and personalized service, as well as the best value for the money among our many returning guests and in comparison for the local area; we're pleased you enjoyed the style and breakfast and look forward to welcoming you back should you decide to try us again.
With kind regards and Many thanks,
Shimrit - Guest Relations Manager
