amazing view on the whole Jerusalem! a lovely garden outside where you can sit back and have a drink. Free wi-fi in the lobby ( a pity not in the rooms...). Delicious food. Friendly service. I guess everything you need to be satisfied. ;)

The 7 Arches was in a great location, on the Mont of Olives over looking the city, what a view it was, and you can walk down to the Old City. The hotel was clean, staff was friendly, the front desk was very helpful and friendly, also with Beinhairm tours. Large dinning area, full excellent breakfast buffet included, the servers were very accommodating, and thanks to the cooks for great tasting food. The price of the hotel was o.k, free Wi-Fi only in lobby area, over all a great place to stay, but just needs alot of up-dating.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with a view, if two people make sure you ask for a full/queen size bed, and there are...

I have often wondered if roses have thorns or thorns have roses. The 7 Arches is set in contrast to both the geography and the politics in which finds itself. The service and the food in the restaurant were a wonderful oasis in such a beautiful land of turmoil.

Room Tip: early morning is best for pictures of the old city.

The Best Thing About the hotel is its on the Mont of Olives, the Dream View of Jerusalem, just outside the hotel and equally good view from the rooms, Huge dinning area good breakfast, huge lobby, free Wi-FI in lobby , and the staffs are excellent, though its in the Arab area but the drivers outside the hotels are extremely co-operative and cheap, we had a trip to Bethlehem, Jericho, Dead Sea, Masada, as well as a full trip to old Jerusalem, and dropped at Tel - Aviv (Four of Us) at USD500 was an excellent bargain. The driver was just an excellent person and a good guide as well. Finally the reception staff at the hotel Mr. Abeed was very good, and the staffs at the dinning area Mr Md Ali and Yusaf Ali were too good.

when you first reach this hotel you will think, wow what a dump! but dont be fooled by its age. The hotel is clean, it has free wifi in the lobby, and a GREAT hot breakfast that is included in the price. Now i travel ALOT! and when i travel it is to see the city and the culture not hangout in a hotel room. So i know this room has a tv but whether it was a flat screen or an oldie i cant remember..didnt care. The view of the city of Jerusalem is fabulous and you are close to so many sites. The staff is very helpful and accomadating. The have a wonderful mediteranean buffet that they serve in the evening that is inexpensive and great! If you are looking for no frills, cheap, clean, and good service this is the place!

Room Tip: no fitness or pool

This is a typical hotel (not any sort of B&B) with many rooms spread in two connected buildings, each having only two storeys. The hotel is located on the top of the Mount of Olives in a quiet neighborhood. It is low populated area so there is no vibrant living around. You can walk down to the old town using a small (nearly traffic free) road. It will take no more than 20 minutes. The hotel inside had a good standard, but 30 years ago. It looks like it has never been renovated except for painting the walls. You get a relatively large room with bathroom, all rather clean. We had brakfast included in the price, but it was poor. Not that there was no food, but the quality and the way it was served need immediate improvement. If you travel on budget and want a standard hotel, this may be the choice.

Room Tip: Rooms 601, 602 have the window facing the old city.

I visited 7 Arches two years ago and wrote a glowing review on Trip Advisor. I could not wait to return! I remember a hotel that had classic furnishings, clean, comfortable, with friendly staff. What I returned to... well... let me now list it.

Pros:
-The food is amazing! Well, the dinners truly are. Itzhak and the dining room staff are fantastic! The chef is top notch!
-The staff are quick to answer questions and they show dedication to their jobs and maintenance staff truly keep the facility clean. Even though they did not have enough people to open up a breakfast buffet, the staff did create a small breakfast cart for my husband and I that was thoughtful.
-The location is just stunning and the views are truly postcard worthy.

Cons:
-What was once considered classic is now considered dated... as in truly outdated. The radio in the room doesn't even work as is built into the side of the bedside table with dials and such. The room furnishings are worn.
-Heat... as in turning on the heat. A space heater was provided for us upon request when our room was cold enough to keep the beverages we brought with us cold enough to not use the fridge. We spoke to other guests who also agreed that they did not have any heat either. They turned heat on in the restaurant only when people arrived. There was no heat in the general areas and we saw staff wearing winter coats while they worked.
-6 guests in the hotel.... no joke. A hotel with over 200 beds... had only 6 people. I wish they would have canceled our reservations for those two days. My husband and I did not feel safe, even though there was someone at the desk during the night, and we did have our door locks engaged. Plus, the lack of heat I'm sure was due to lack of guests... and we felt like they just wanted our money instead of providing basic services.
-No safe in the room
-TV channels are CNN only, if you speak English
-New pillows are needed! I'm going to try and post pictures of the four pillows we were given... all with horrible stains. We got scared to look at the mattress as we did not discover this until the second day... we just couldn't do it.
-Taxis no longer line up outside the facility... they know no one comes here. You have to walk to the bottom of the hill.
-No elevator... none for getting luggage up the entry stairs. My husband and I are of good health and did it without problem. For those with mobility issues... it would not be so easy.

I can no longer recommend this hotel. At $150 a night, we feel we were overcharged, especially compared with the Dan Hotel Chain facilities charging the same prices as 7 Arches. Many of my taxi drivers commented how this hotel used to be the jewel of Israel but how neglect from the owners has let the jewel become faded and decrepit. My husband commented that with a small investment toward basic facilities upgrades, this hotel could once again shine. If it wasn't for the devoted and dynamic staff of this facility, the 7 Arches would be lost. If it wasn't for the same devoted and wonderful staff, my husband and I would have left immediately. Hopefully, the owners of this facility will realize the amazing location as well as the staff they have deserve the investment of time and money to return this hotel to its past glory.
