The building is amazing and its location. However, the rooms need serious investment. You can see the glory of old times, and even a refurbishment that probably took place too long ago. Today the carpets are filthy, the tab was dirty, the curtains, the toilet, almost unacceptable (only bearable because the price was low).

It is a pity, such a nice place, so poorly run.

Room tip: facing the King David

Very good stay at the YMCA situated very centrally within easy reach of all attractions, shops and restaurants. Extremely good value for money and our stay included an excellent Israeli breakfast and free parking!! Airconditioned rooms are comfortable and clean although the fabric of the building is showing its age and needs some attention but this didn't detract from our stay. Would thoroughly recommend the hotel and will have no hesitation staying there again in the future.

The hotel is an old beautiful building worth visiting. Old trees and magical yard. Its location in the heart of Jerusalem old quarter is great for walking and touring.

The staff is going out of their way to assist. Coming down way after breakfast , the waiter sat us for coffee and pastry without hesitation despite being busy clearing up. Realy nice gesture.

The hotel rooms are very basic this is why I gave it 4 not 5. But, renewed and very clean so together with the great location and service it is great value and highly reccomended

The Jerusalem YMCA is part of the history of this interesting and complex city. The rooms give you almost the same views as the King David at 1/3 the price. The hotel has a great pool,a must in the hot summer. Wonderful and helpful staff!! Excellent breakfast.

Like many other reviewers, our experience of this hotel and of its staff was very positive. We endorse everything in Douglas D's review, and we were especially delighted to experience the manner in which this hotel makes it its mission to build and strengthen tolerance and understanding between cultures and religions - from its staff right through to Gan ha-Shalom, the Jewish-Arab kindergarten. The plaque opposite my breakfast table, which quotes Lord Allenby on April 18 1933, is even more poignant now: "Here is a place whose atmosphere is peace, where political and religious jealousies can be forgotten and international unity fostered and developed".

Room tip: As for a room overlooking the garden - it is beautiful!
