What a wonderful hotel! We had a celebration and I asked the hotel by mail to have some wine, fruit ect. ready for us. I never got a confirmation but never the less it was there at our arrival! And they only charge for the wine
Best breakfast with all kinds of goodies and the best bread. A very nice bar were they served a light snack with drinks.

Room Tip: We booked a Pascha De Luxe room which had a a private patio - very nice.

The American Colony is truly a classic Jerusalem landmark with style, character and understated luxury. Our recent five night stay was in a superior room in the main building. The rooms are clean, comfortable and decorated with period furnishings with modern amenities. The staff were all friendly, professional and provided subtle service without being overbearing. Our room was in the main building overlooking the pool. Since it was off season and the pool was closed, there was little activity or noise from below. The only noise issue was from the call to prayer from the mosque adjoining the property. Although a bit disconcerting at first, we became used to it and found it actually contributed to a unique stay. The breakfast in the Arabesque Restaurant was plentiful and delicious and the staff very accommodating. A stay at The American Colony is truly a remarkable experience I would recommend.

A true unique and unparalleled hotel. Polite & helpful staff.
Very quiet and tranquil, full of charm, style and history. The bathroom floor was heated which was a very nice added value.

A fabulous hotel with the most stunning bathroom in our junior suite. Lovely food prepared by staff well able to cope with my gluten free, non-meat diet. Breakast in the garden was a particularly calm start to our sight-seeing.

Room Tip: The junior suite was well worth the additional money with it's enormous sunken bath and walk in...

The American Colony is simply THE place to stay in Jerusalem. Set in an amazing Ottoman palace in the middle of gorgeous gardens and leafy courtyards, it's the most iconic place in town. Every other customer is a top-notch foreign correspondent, diplomat, aid worker, intellectual or artists. The hotel hosts cultural events regularly.

No matter in which of their bar or restaurant you sit, you can be sure to hear people debating the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, archaeology or books. Just sitting there is an instant trip to the troubled past and present of the Holy City.

The rooms are quite spacious. They're not as charming as the hotel itself (unless you can afford the Pacha suite) but very comfy. Service is excellent both in the hotel and its restaurants and bars. The breakfast is fantastic.

If you want to discover a Paradise corner, go to the American Colony. Once you go there it will be impossible to choose another place where to stay in Jerusalem.
The best time to go is from march until end of october, when the Patio is open.
Everything is five stars, from the rooms to the breakfast. All the staff is kind and always available to answer your needs
