You need to know from the start that this is a European-style hotel, which means that the rooms are VERY small! I was a tour leader, so they put me on one of the renovated floors and my room was actually quite nice (though still small). The rest of my group was on the first floor, and the rooms really were sub-standard for this kind of hotel. They were small and old and several people had problems with leaky showers, etc. The elevators were SO slow...several times we walked up the six floors to avoid them. The dining room was VERY crowded and the food was just OK. There are lots of BIG tour groups coming and going. This can make or break the dining/lobby experience. Several times we couldn't even get through the lobby there were so many people. The staff was not helpful in the least! They barely spoke English and didn't know anything about Jerusalem sites. I might stay here again if the price was right, but I would request a room on one of the renovated floors. There is a substantial difference in these rooms and the older ones.

We were dissatisfied with the Prima Kings Hotel, even though
it is in a convenient location, and serves a good breakfast, for
these reasons:
1)Rude staff and manager - At registration, the desk clerk
couldn't find my entry stamp into Israel. I assured him that I
entered legally, and it was somewhere among the many stamps in my passport. Upon checkout, a different clerk told
us we owed the V.A.T. because "you are Israeli citizens".
I answered "you honor me, but I was born, and have always
lived in the U.S. with ONLY the passport of a U.S. citizen". I
thereupon found the Israeli entry stamp in my passport. No
apology was given by him or the manager for their gruff and
rude treatment .
2)NOISY hotel- As reported previously, the hotel caters to
many tour groups, especially teenagers and younger children,
who walk the halls, and in and out of the rooms, play music,
and talk loudly and incessantly, until the early morning. When
I reported this to the staff, I was referred to the manager, whose
reply was that I "need not come back". I am sorry to report this
because I love Jerusalem and Israel, and hope to return to the
country in the near future.
