Ok, this hotel caters mainly for groups and we stayed as a couple on a prebooked tour.
Check in very professional. On way to room lift stopped at first floor. Door opened to 50 plus American teenagers spread out in hall, playing on tablets, chatting in groups, lounging around. Onto the third floor. This is where our room was. Met by Israeli school kids using corridor as bowling alley. Room was actually lovely. But after 2 hours of what seemed like being plunked in the middle of a playground, some words had to be had with the group leader. Luckily the kids left the hotel soon after.

This is a good hotel with professional staff and great rooms. If you stay here be aware its full of groups which are noisey and may disturb you.

We found this hotel very sub-standard considering its stars. Itzik on reception was unwelcoming and almost rude. When I told the front desk manager that his attitude was bad, he told me I must have caught him on a bad day. The room was shabby, not dirty but didn't feel really clean. The cleaners shouted in the corridor and hoovered right outside the room from before 8am. The one good thing was the staff and service in the breakfast area and we liked the mix of guests and staff having breakfast together. One good thing, they moved us to a better room on the last night to try to help us avoid the noisy group of teenagers as we were with our 4 month old baby. It didn't work but at least they tried! But overall, we wouldn't recommend it.

Room Tip: ask for a renovated room

The only problem with the hotel is that there are kids running up and down the corridor making a lot of noise. If you are travelling with kids you could say that most people in the hotel will not complain about yours

We stayed here one night as part if a two day tour program. This hotel is simply OK with the pluses being efficient check-in, plenty of hot water, and clean rooms. The breakfast buffet "featured" cold quiche, runny and disgusting looking eggs, and INSTANT coffee. Our room TV lost connection around 4:30 pm and was down until around 9:00 pm. The hotel location is such that there is little to no eating choices nearby, and the dinner buffet had the poorest choice and tasting food that we sampled over two weeks in Jordan and Israel.

And at least our room (302) was also noisy.

Room Tip: Find a different hotel.

I stayed at this hotel Dec 11-13, 2013. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice buffet breakfast included (eggs, pastries, yogurts, cheeses, breads, fish, juices). I had a clean, modern and large room with a fridge and a safe. I was staying there through a tour group (at $120 per night), which I thought was fair for what I experienced. I recently booked my husband for a trip Feb 2014 at Park Prima for under $100, so we're happy about that.
I see that others have mentioned the noise, yes, the soundproofing could be better, but I stayed at another hotel in Tel Aviv first, and Prima Park was MUCH better.
They could improve their coffee... but I love espresso and it's just regular drip coffee.
The location is great too, just a quick tram-ride away from the old-city (5 stops, 3km or so). It's within walking distance of the bus station (1 tram stop away). The tram is 7 shekels, so for $2 your in the old city.
No pool, but they'll give you a pass for the university pool across the street (I didn't use that service).

Room Tip: I was on the side facing the highway, you could request the other side to avoid noise.

My husband and I were visiting from the US and only planning to stay for 2 nights, but my mother had to go into the hospital and we kept extending our stay. We wound up staying in the hotel for 3 weeks! The staff was exceptionally kind, helpful with getting the best rates, and did everything they could to make us feel "at home." The receptionists (Nasser Nasser, Lena, Oren, Itzhik, and Nasser ?) couldn't have been nicer. The hotel manager, Ronit, was also very accommodating. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and well-serviced. Many of the rooms have just been remodeled. The hotel lounge is very pretty, has a small bar and many comfortable seating areas. Breakfast was very good and everything was fresh -- many salads, eggs made to order, cheeses, etc. I miss the breakfast! Have stayed at 5 hotels in Jerusalem over the past few years and this was the best value with by far the nicest people.

The room was comfortable enough, although there was a lot of noise when I first arrived on Sunday afternoon due to renovations. Also, the fire alarm kept going off in the early hours of the morning. The staff themselves, while helpful, seem to be constantly preoccupied and can take a long while to attend to you. Excellent breakfast buffet, but the coffee wasn't that good. Location was close to the tram station, so you can easily get to the old city from there.

Room Tip: Select the rooms on the left hand side. Those are facing away from the highway.
