“OK But noisy”
Reviewed March 7, 2011

I stayed at the hotel with my friends during a weekend begining of January. The rooms are very small and the noise from the street wasn't nice at all.

I'm so sorry you did not enjoy the rooms as our other guests do; we pride ourselves on 300ft² standard rooms – among the largest standard rooms in Jerusalem. We also have both a shower enclosure and a bathtub in every room, which most five-star Jerusalem hotels do not.
I certainly understand you were bothered by the noise across the street alas, we cannot exercise control over Jerusalem Municipality road work.

Perfectly situated next to the modern Mamilla Mall as well as the ancient Jaffa Gate entrance to the Old City. Rooms were fine. Pool is nice, We went running every morning and had plenty of options for routes. We never eat in the hotel restaurant but Friday night Shabbat in Israel proved very difficult to find a place to dine. So, we chose the hotel buffet. At $84 per person, it was extravagant but turned out to be wonderful! Individual challahs, sweet red wine, vast selection of foods and they had singer strolling thru the restaurant singing Shabbat prayers. It was lovely. We lingered for hours just enjoying the ambiance and listening to other families praying, laughing. Make sure to book tix in advance to the sound and light show at the Tower of David. Fabulous!

Thank you ever so for your lovely review, and I look forward to welcoming you back.

This hotel has it all. The rooms, food, and everyone at the Information desk were soooo helpful. I highly reccommend anyone to stay at this hotel, a GREAT outdoor mall right next to the hotel and lots of restaurants in a very short walking distance. Anything you need the staff were very willing to make happen. Beautiful hotel, great staff, beds are very comfy. :)

Lovely staff....especially Ari at the Concierge Desk, who met and exceeded all of our expectations! My husband and I had just arrived at the hotel in the early evening and only had three days to visit Jerusalem....the manager of the Executive Lounge (Sandra....another gem!)....sent Ari up to meet us in the Lounge to discuss our needs. After a very productive five minute meeting, Ari took note and by the next morning EVERYTHING....Old City walking tour with one of the best guides in the city (Eatay Ben Zaken), tours to Bethlehem, Masada and the Dead Sea, restaurant reservations, Tower of David light show, car service to airport, etc....was set up brilliantly.
Exceptional service provided by the Executive Lounge staff as well....Coral, Hadas, Maya, Sheli and Sima took extremely good care of us.
Additionally, to be so close to Old City is a huge PLUS with this hotel.

The David Citadel is without question the best situated world class hotel in Jerusalem. Next door to the very upscale Mailla mall as well as the city center, it has a beautiful view of the Old City and is just a short walk from Jaffe Gate. The building and the rooms are very contemporary, roomy and clean. Unfortunately they somewhat downgraded their buffet breakfast in an attemp to prove "less is more", but the breakfast staff is very friendly and helpful. The front desk staff are also knowledgable and quite friendly. We were there for a week and it truly felt like my home away from home.
One comment that I would make is that the staff spends too much time communicating with each other about non-hotel business while a guest is waiting to catch their attention.

All in all, it is a wonderful hotel to use as a base for touring Israel or meeting business people,

I'm almost never disappointed staying at the David Citadel. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, bright and modern, and the food is great. Most staff there address me by name, even though I only come there once or twice a year on average. Its expensive but you get your money's worth. When i needed to check out late I wasn't given any problem-even though 150 rooms were being checked in that day with the entourage of a visiting foreign head-of-state.

I've stayed here twice - once with my adult daughter (mother/daughter trip to Israel) and once with my husband. Both stays were great, and would definitely return again on another visit. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are lovely, and the service is very good. It is worth staying here for the view from the pool & the breakfast dining room alone!
