David Citadel Hotel

I've stayed here twice - once with my adult daughter (mother/daughter trip to Israel) and once with my husband. Both stays were great, and would definitely return again on another visit. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are lovely, and the service is very good. It is worth staying here for the view from the pool & the breakfast dining room alone!

Gorgeous hotel in perfect location - two blocks from the King David Hotel, across the street from a major shopping pedestrian mall, and convenient to the old City. The room was warmly contemporary with a comfortable bed. Fabulous buffet breakfasts. We loved staying here!

Location (near downtown), staff (Munir, Medina, Manuel and all the concierge staff), are all outstanding. My favorite place to stay in Jerusalem, and has been over the years.

We live in Tel Aviv and use to come to David Citadel Hotel on weekends. The first time we came to the hotel we were impressed from very attentive attitude from the reception staff, the try to understand the personal needs and do the best for the guest. All of the departments of the hotel are very efficient and the atmosphere in the hotel is very elegant, quiet and pleasant for the guests. Especially I would like to mention the housekeeping department. They take care of every request in a very prompt and excellent way. We can compare the David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem to the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago, were we used to stay.

We have been going to the Citadel since it opened in 1999. Each time we leave, we can't wait to return.
The rooms are quite spacious and comfortible, and the view of the old city is magnificent.
The location of the Citadel is incredible, Mamilla, the Old City, and town are all a short walk.
The rooms always have enough space for our clothes- and everything else we tend to bring. Which is not always the case for hotels in Israel. The staff are always polite and efficient, check in was a breeze, our luggage was delivered to the room within five minutes of our arrival. They just completed renovating the ground floor, and lobby area, and almost completed the fourth floor lobby and breakfast buffet, and I must say everything is done in great taste. As a Citadel Club member, we were taken care of spectacularly well by Sandra Haziza, who as always went out of her way to make us comfortible, and make cetrain all our needs were met. Additonally, I must compliment and thank SAID, our waiter for breakfast, Not only is he professional and courteous, but he knows how to do so with a smile.
Just two issues that I wish to point out The showers in the bathrooms are getting a little dated, and the wicker chairs in the outdoor breakfast patio are not very comfortable.
I really recommend the Scala restaurant on the fourth floor- The food and service are five star.

I’m very pleased we provide you with the hospitality you so enjoy. I take this opportunity to thank you for your loyal business; we much appreciate our returning guests’ patronage.
I’m also grateful for your many lovely compliments for our staff, facilities and the Scala restaurant.
We are planning a comprehensive refurbishment of all hotel rooms following the public areas renewal; I do hope you enjoy the new rooms greatly.
I take your comment regarding the terrace chairs to heart and thank you for your comments.

Every year and a few times a year we are staying at the David Citadel Hotel since it opening some 12 years ago - it has become our beautiful home in Jerusalem . The architecture reflects the character and uniqueness of Jerusalem and the outstanding service of the staff creates a special atmosphere . In particular Munir Salman - the reception manager - deserves to be singled out .He genuinely cares about every guest and goes out of his way to accommodate the wishes of the guests sometimes in very difficult and demanding circumstances . It is a pleasure to deal with him .The restaurant staff is very friendly and whilst we do not remember all their names it is Ahmed and his colleagues who make you so welcome .The quality of the food could be improved - except for the breakfast which is very generous and tasty . We hope that the current refurbishment will not spoil the uniqueness of this hotel and will retain the spirit of Jerusalem . It would be a great pity if it became an r other characterless 5 star hotel

Many thanks for your praise, being called your ‘home in Jerusalem’ is so rewarding. Munir and Ahmed are indeed highly valued members of our staff and I do appreciate your compliments.
I can certainly understand the new décor takes some getting used to. We preserve the unique age old Jerusalem architecture and hope you enjoy the benefits of a new, luxurious setting.

We have no words to describe our fabulous stay in the David Citadel. The service and staff were all so accommodating. Our favourite part was the elaborate breakfast and the friendliness that prevailed amongst staff and guests alike.
Special thanks to Sandra, and the wonderful reception staff including Aws, Tamar and Hanoch.
We look forward to the next time we get to return to our home in Jerusalem!
