Simply amazing hotel with great service, Manuel greeted us and made feel like home, we got in the room and a plate of fruits and a bottle of wine was placed on the table with a greeting card " welcome home" signed by Manuel.

The David Citadel Hotel combines the elegant service of a bygone era with the warmth of Israeli hospitality. I went to the hotel with some hesitations as my previous experience with luxury Israeli hotels is that they can be snobbish and downright impolite. Further I was travelling with my 84 year old mother whom with her baseball cap, T-shirt and cane probably doesn't fit the glamorous image some of these hotels try to present. The hotel staff was simply wonderful---always polite but extraordinarily welcoming and helpful, and we felt extremely comfortable. Further the rooms are beautiful (although an extra guard rail in the shower would have helped). The buffets at breakfast and supper were high quality--done aesthetically, and not the over lavish , mediocre food found in many "superior" hotels. Only minor complaints--A chair by the elevators would help as the Shabbos elevator is slow. The bed in the junior suite is small for two people. Otherwise just perfect.

Room Tip: The junior suite was beautiful but the bed is small--queen size, not king size which our travel agen...

We liked this modern place better than the adjacent King David. (From which we got booted when Pres. Obama came to town.)

Wonderful: Delightfully cheerful (!) and facilitative Front Desk Staff.

Our gracious and attentive breakfast waiter Samir was most attentive in attempting to mitigate the shortage of selections caused by the Pesach holiday.

Great location: Only a short walk to the Jaffa gate to the Western Wall and or the Mamilla Mall. (Not much that's indigenous or unique here, though....)

Don't waste $100USD on the top floor Lounge: Deadsville!

>One wish: That the guys at the Front Door -- and that gal in beauty shop -- get some customer service training!

We stayed at the hotel for 9 days for Passover and had a great time. The location cannot be topped - 5 minutes to the Old City and 5 minutes to the center of town. The rooms are smallish, although typical for a city hotel and consistent with others in Jerusalem, but nicely furnished and maintained. Facilities are excellent, including swimming pool and gym; hotel internet is a bit slow. Service was really excellent - everyone seemed interested in pleasing, from waiters at meals, to pool attendants, to front desk.

The David Citadel is in the center of Jerusalem, close to shopping, other main hotels as well as the Mamilla shopping area. The hotel is large, beautiful, spacious with an elegant decor and modern lobby. The rooms are a decent size and come equipped with a modern t.v., desk, chairs as well as a spacious bathroom with bathtub and shower. If you open the mini bar and take out an item from the bar and do not use it and just put it back in the same spot, you get charged as there are motion monitors in the fridge. We wee traveling with an infant and had to remove the cans of soda in order to put a bottle in the fridge. We had to go to the front desk and asked not to be charged.

The service is excellent. I asked for extra hangers and within minutes there was a knock at the door. Call at 11pm for extra towels and within minutes your request is filled.

The buffet breakfast at the hotel is excellent and the waiters and waitresses bend over backwards to bring you whatever you want. The only problem is the line for omelets it is very slow, however the selection for breakfast is fantastic with scrambled eggs, fruits, nuts, salads and cheeses just to mention a few items. The lunch and dinner menu is extensive and the food delicious.

They have an outdoor restaurant but would not allow us to order food there and take it to the pool and seating is limited.

They have a great children's play room which is well stocked with toys, movies and games and is great for infants as well as older children.

I have stayed at almost every hotel in Jerusalem and the Citadel is by far the best. It is expensive, however the personal service offered is unequaled by any other hotel in Jerusalem.

Room Tip: There is a larger standard room which comes with a sofa and a larger sitting area, ask for the large...

I came across an employee by the name of Ata, if you are there I highly recommend you find him early on into your trip. After speaking with him for several minutes on the first day he made sure he could always be of assistance. We stayed over Passover, and immediately following he made sure he had us a reservation at Waffle Bar (Delicious) so we could be among the first to enter and eat there. During breakfast he learned the orders of both my friends and myself just from talking to us and he always made sure that when we came down we had a table with a view and our coffees waiting. The Hotel itself is in an unbelievable location and the staff just made the trip that much more enjoyable.

This is one of those hotels where you step through the door and enter a different world.
We had a great time, perfect rooms .
The pool is too small and crowded , Too much people you can't even see the water .
The food is just stunning .. absolutely delicious ! " Hats off for the chef "
The waiters are great .. We had this young waiter called karam who made us feel just like home , The whole staff was friendly and very helpful .

The bad thing about this hotel else than the small pool is that you have to wait for half an hour for a table to eat ! " that makes it not even close to perfection " .
