This Hotel is well located in Jerusalem. Lobby and dining areas are clean and contemporary. But, the rooms need a major renovation, they are old, not well decorated, average amenities and worn carpet. Until there is a major renovation, I would stay elsewhere. Bell desk gents were very courteous and helpful. Front Desk personnel we're OK, but not overly helpful. While the website advertises a 5 minute walk to the Old City, it's more like 15-20 minutes, but still pretty convenient to all locations.

Dear jeffrey D,
Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know of your experiences; we're delighted that you enjoyed the hotel's location and the service from the bell desk. While a little too late to rectify for you this time, your comments with regards to the rooms have been taken on board for attention; thank you for highlighting this to us.
Additionally, we will make sure to amend the information regarding the walking distance to the old city, thank again.
We'd hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back,

with thanks

I booked a superior room at this hotel. The furniture is ancient and chipped. The carpet is worn old, and probably filthy. The bathroom door only opens partially because there's a wall right behind it. Which is probably okay because even with all the lights on it's so dark in the bathroom one could barely see anyway. If you need to call the front desk, it takes three tries over in minimum of 10 minutes. I asked the operator why this is so. She said, it's the busiest time of day and I am the only person answering the phone. There are hundreds and hundreds of guests in this hotel and they have one operator. I have only made two requests of the front desk and both of them had to be made multiple times to achieve success. The curtain in my room is not hung properly, but I don't dare waste the 15 minutes would take to reach someone

Dear PEZMOM3,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with us; it is always through guest feedback from which we are able to develop our services.
Your somewhat frustrating experience does not seem to be in line with the usual standards we strive to achieve throughout Dan Hotels and we are always disappointed to hear when a guest feels that we have fallen short; we have been sure to take on board your comments for further discussion and attention with both Front Desk manager and Housekeeping; thank you for highlighting these areas to us.

We'd hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back when we can show you we can do so much better.

With Kind regards,

Natalie Shalom

Just stayed here for 5 nights on a package tour. Great location and clean, but guest rooms are in severe need of renovation. You couldn't find drabber décor if you tried. Bathtub bottom was chipped, curtains ripped, furniture/carpet/fixtures as outdated as they come. Whether all the rooms are as depressing as mine, I don't know (I was in room 640), but the other folks on my trip reported the same.
A few other annoyances: 1) one morning's wake-up call never came, and another morning's call came an hour early 2) if you don't want to pay $20 per day per device for wireless, you need to use the free wireless in the equally drab-colored and dark, yet more modern lobby,
which was so cold you could freeze meat in it 3) I don't what the deal with the room fridge was..it was located in a wood cabinet, and when I opened the cabinet door, a blast of heat came out, so was afraid to open the fridge itself 4) if the pool is important to you, I felt it was very small compared to the size of the hotel, thus appearing to be crowded at all times and 5) the breakfast buffet did not have real OJ, fresh squeezed or otherwise. The DP in Tel Aviv had squeeze your own, but this DP only had that Tang-type garbage..NOT ACCEPTABLE!!

Room Tip: Not sure there are any!

This was our second visit to the Dan Panorama in Jerusalem and I would not hesitate to return to this hotel on our next visit. The location is superb, we walked absolutely everywhere. The hotel is lovely. I find the lobby attractive, the food was great and the staff was very courteous.Another bonus is the free parking adjacent the hotel.
The pool, although small is on the roof so the views are nice but I personally did not feel the urge to swim.
I feel that the Dan offers very good value for the money.

We stayed at the Dan for eight nights in July 2013. The location is perfect, an easy walk to the Jaffa gate, with really good restaurants very close. The staff was very helpful, the room was clean. We stayed on the executive floor, which was nice not only because of the food and wine and patio, but also because of the computers and internet in the room. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and good. Be forewarned it is all cold food on Shabbat. The only mistake we made was eating in the bar.... even if you are tired venture across the street to one of the restaurants, your food will be much better.
I would definitely stay at the Dan again!
