Our room on the Club level was superb, with thoughtful "gifts" of fruit and sweets left daily. Only 3 downsides to our visit: we were booked for an Old City view, but were settled into a room with only the barest oblique view of same; during the Succoth holiday, breakfast is served in a much-too-large succah enclosure, with waiters hovering around the distant perimeter, talking amongst themselves; wi-fi is available only at extra cost. This is not consistent with today's luxury hotel standards. One final point - the pool is accessed through back-of-house basement service spaces; it's not visually evident (except by signage) from any point in a stroll through the vast lobby.

Room Tip: If you want an Old City view, be sure you are located on the broad side of the hotel opposite the main entrance, as high up as possible.

Select the King David and rest assured you've selected the best. No other hotel in Israel has the same level of service, old world charm, modern amenities and loyal staff that looks forward to greeting and helping its guests from the moment they arrive until the moment they leave. The dining room is a microcosm of Arab-Israeli cooperation with many of the same waiters and captains that have worked there for decades, serving outstanding food in a beautiful setting with great distinction, cheer and warmth. The hotel rooms are spacious and the views of the Old City are incomparable. The magnificent outdoor pool is set in a spectacular garden where one can get lost in total relaxation. Though the room prices are on the high end, this hotel ranks among the world's greatest hotels where one would expect to pay similar prices, if not higher. If you only have only one hotel to select in Jerusalem, the King David is the place to stay. It's the residence of presidents, prime ministers and celebreties, but where ordinary citizens are treated like royalty and look forward to returning.

Room Tip: Old City view rooms are worth the incremental cost.

I have stayed here many times, and I always love coming back. as an amex Platinum member, I always get upgraded, as it is one of their fine hotels and resorts. The breakfast is an event, and the service is excellent. Leave a decent tip to the waiters on your first day, and they will serve you hand over foot. The location is excellent, and they have a magnificent pool area and grounds, which is very nusual for a Jerusalem city hotel. This is the grand old dame of Jerusalem, with an old world feel, and has been around since the 1930,s. The rooms and hotel is somewhat dated, but nonetheless it is top shelf, and I highly recommend it

The room was very comfortable. We were on the fourth floor facing the YMCA- new city. Though the room had a good air conditioning system, we enjoyed having the window open. The breakfast is a huge healthy assortment of fresh foods. The staff is attentive, polite and very efficient. There was a fruit plate in the room when we arrived along with tasty little sweet treats. As needed the fruit plate was replenished. Each night gave us a new set of sweets - tiny cupcakes or candies.

Though we wished there was free internet, we opted to purchase the service and took the weekly rate. The quality of the hotel combined with the ambiance of its history made our trip to Jerusalem very special.

Tips- Go across the street to the YMCA and up to the tower for a nice sunset view. The King David is easy walking distance from the hotel to the Jaffa Gate of the old city through the Mamilia Mall, a nice group of boutiques and cafes.

The King David is the best hotel in Israel. From the moment you enter the grand entrance hall you feel KD's special and unique atmosphere and you can't wait to enter your room.
The rooms are beautiful with lovely furnishing, comfortable beds, electric curtains, large LCD TV and a wonderful bathroom.
The hotel has 2 restaurants and on weekends a traditional Sabbath dinner is served in the beautiful dining room and a delicious buffet lunch on Saturday. The food and service are fantastic.
One of the best things about King David is the staff. They will do everything to please you and make you happy. I would like to mention Aiad, Natalya and Emma from housekeeping who fulfilled our every wish and made us feel at home and Fuad and Isaac from the dining room that took such great care of us and did an excellent job.
Can't wait to come next time.
