“Thank you taxi Anan!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

We just returned from an extraordinary two week trip to Israel. An Israeli friend highly recommended this charming hotel. It's Moroccan decor, blue tiled Turkish bath, stunning views and ideal location excelled our expectations. Our trip was enhanced overall by our taxi driver Anan. He drove us around the city, to the Negev (21/2 hours away) and picked us up there a few days later. Anan was so thoughtful, intelligent and reliable that we enjoyed our itinerary without any worry.
Shalom, Vicki

Mount Zion is walking distance to Mamilla shopping area and the Old City. The view of the Old City wall from the public rooms and view rooms is excellent. The hotel is a refurbished and expanded 19th Century historic building with the 6th of 7 floors at street level. This is our third stay and rooms vary in size and quality generally by price. We had problems with the air conditioning and finally controlled the temperature in March by opening the window. The standard rooms and hallways are generally in need of refurbishing. The bath was adequate. The staff was generally friendly, but did not follow up well on requests. The breakfast quality and selection was very good.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room before deciding.

Although the rooms may look old fashioned, the hotel is ideally located at walking distance from the old city. The breakfast buffet in the morning is absolutely stunning with a high variety of dishes. In addition, the quality of service at the reception desk made the stay unforgettable : the staff was always trying to help in the best way possible. We would come back !

The hotel is situated in walking distance from the old city. The view from the hotel is great. The hotel public areas are to be mentioned and gives you a sense of Jerusalem. We got few rooms. The basic room is ok but the bathroom is outdated and too small. The bigger and better rooms are indeed much better including the bathroom. So it's all about the money. If it's not an issue for you take the superior rooms.

Overall, our experience at the hotel was wonderful! It's an excellent location - walking distance to the old city - and it's also close to a refurbished train station that has cute restaurants and nightlife.
The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The main areas are large and while they tend to fill up, there is room for many groups of people at the same time.
Pluses:
Great breakfast - something for everyone
Excellent location
Amazing views
Large, clean hotel rooms; big bathrooms

Neutrals:
Rather than a king bed, we had 2 twin beds pushed together. Each bed had its own bedding, which make sleeping awkward because we couldn't share blankets.
The bathroom shower leaked and wet the whole bathroom. We alerted the front desk but in truth, it's the design of the shower and likely nothing could be done about it. (The glass doesn't continue the whole length of the shower, so the water easily escapes and soaked the whole marble floor!)
The tissues and bath tissue were hard. While minor, I had a cold and using hard, rough tissues was uncomfortable. For the price of the room, I expected better quality products like tissues and toilet tissue.
Overall, this was a great hotel! I would stay there again, for sure.

I am staying at the Mt. Zion Hotel for business in Tel Aviv. This is a lovely, well-situated property with stellar views, fabulous and courteous staff, and the best breakfast buffet! They also have the strongest wifi, so it has been so easy to get some work done. I will definitely return with my family.

Stayed 1 night in Mt. Zion Jerusalem. Nice big room with a nice view of the walled city and mount olives. Refreshing welcome drinks and good breakfast. They also have a nice turkish spa and a refreshing jacuzzi with the view of the mountains.
Nice hotel experience but pricey.

Room Tip: book the room with a view of the old city and mt. olives
