Have just returned from 3 days in Jerusalem where we stayed at the Crowne Plaza (formerly Holiday Inn). The hotel is a 5 minute cab journey (£3) from the Old City so the location is ok, if not prime. We stayed in a superior room which was ok - cosy but clean, and with a nice bathroom. Hotel facilities good enough - food was ok, shabbat dinner a bit mad (too many people, too much noise!), swimming pool (retractable roof) was ok... You can see where i'm going with this. At $180 per room per night, I think the Crowne Plaza was a good mid-priced option, certainly better located that the Regency (miles outa town), and the Novatel (edge of East Jerusalem). For a little bit more, go for the Sheraton if you can, but if you're price sensitive, the CP will do just fine...
