“Very, very nice.”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

The view from our window was wonderful. The room was very quiet for sleeping. The temperature of the room fluctates, but we opened the balcony door in the evening for fresh air and also enjoyed the sounds of the city. The food was very good and the pastries and breads were exceptional! All staff were very courteous and helpful All in all, it was a very good experience ... I would not hesitate to stay there agan.

We had a great experience. Only one disappointment- poor service in the bar area.
Room was clean- great view from small balcony. Our air conditioning didn't seem to work our first night, but it was in working order the second night. We did not report the problem. Magically fixed-- or we just didn't push the right buttons!

The hotel was very nice and the staff was very helpful. The location was convenient to several of the Holy Land sites, as well as the Israel Museum. Baggage delivery was prompt upon our arrival. The food has been good, especially for breakfast.

First time in Jerusalem. Definitely come back to this hotel next time I'm in town. Kind, courteous, and helpful staff. Go out of their way to help you. Rooms are clean and the decor is nice. Food is fresh and tasty.

Room Tip: Get a room that overlooks the old city.

The hotel looks good, rooms are clean and tidy. There is a large selection of food and very good restaurant. The hotel's location is great, central and close to all. Business Lounge quiet and nice. Overall good service and therefore recommended hotel.

Despite top level in the IHG Loyalty program I was assigned the worst room in the lowest floor (a remodelled utility view with limited view and just behind the service elevators that would make rather loud noises every time they passed by. Worse yet: I was assured at check-in that I had been upgraded as per the terms of the IHG Loyalty program.

I insisted on a room change which was granted, but I was told that the last night of my reservation would become more expensive because they were fully booked (I had extended my reservation when I checked in earlier). In the room I checked their website and could book at least 9 rooms of almost all room types.

The bathroom of the new room smelled of urine and the water in the sink would not flow out. Furthermore, the line for hanging clothes was broken and both clocks in the room were completely off. I immediately reported all that to the front desk and was told they would send someone up while I went for dinner. Nobody came. I reported that again to the front desk when leaving the next morning and was promised they would send someone up to fix this immediately, but when I returned late in the evening nothing had been done.

The night manager was nice enough to upgrade me to a Club room for the remainder of my stay (starting the next day) and invited me to dinner as well (which I wasn't able to take advantage of that invitation). He also agreed to lower the rate for the last day back to what was originally agreed to.

The Club room was well maintained (only the clocks were again not set). However, as with the other two rooms, noise from the corridor and adjacent rooms was clearly audible. The curtains leave a space between the wall and it doesn't stay dark in the morning.

When I returned on the last evening of my stay, the room key didn't work and I had to go back down to the lobby to have it re-activated. It worked for my room, but when I then tried to access the Club Lounge, the room key didn't work again. I had to go down to the lobby again and wait in line again to have it activated.

Room service was a bit of hit-and-miss again. Tea bags were refilled only once and the small towels would disappear one by one as I used them. There's a minibar in the room, but you will be charged 20 Shekels if you use it to store your own food.

What disappointed me most was the attitude of the front desk staff: twice being lied to ("you have already been upgraded" and "we are fully booked and have to increase your rate for the last day"), as well as failing to fix the issues in the room. The action taken by the night manager couldn't really make up for that, but I do thank him for owning up on the problem and solving it.

Room Tip: Avoid 321, 421 etc. These are refurbished utility rooms.

We just returned from our trip to Israel and had a great experience at the Crown Plaza in Jerusalem. We arrived a day earlier than our reservation and they accommodated our early arrival and honored the rate that we had agreed to. Our room overlooked the city and was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast that was part of our room rate was very lavish and the service was good.
