On Friday noon the place was packed and we had to wait for 20 minutes to be seated.
The waitress recommended on 3 dishes and we ordered 2 of them: the beef sufrito and the "kima".
Sufrito, from what I know, is a dish fried in deep oil and then cooked, so it should have a very tasty gravy. The dish was tasty but dry with no gravy and very oily.
The "Kima" is a dish made of kebab, potatoes, egg-plant and spinach. The dish was very tasty but literally dipping with oil. Again, no gravy to dip your pitta bread, but only oil...
By the way the hummus was very good.

Taken here by family for a late lunch after a visit to mahne-yehuda market .
Some of dishes unavailable our timing.
This is traditional hearty middle-eastern style with recommendations including the kubbah, the meatballs and also a goulash-style plate which was slow-cooked and delicious.
Also had a rice dish and some tahini and hoummas - all great.
Highly recommended
No need for dinner after this meal.
Hidden but quite easy to find if you ask for directions.

very authentic Turkish style restaurant.
Remember it is open only during day time. Worth visiting. We loved the food and the very special location.

Went to this resto based on TripAdvisor recommendations and, although we went in circles a bit before finding this place, it was a delicious find. Heavy, meat meals with delicious food, reminiscent of the Ottolenghi cookbook "Jerusalem". This was by far the most authentic Israeli food we had during the three weeks we were in Israel. Looks a bit chaotic from the outside but service was terrific. Do not miss this place during your trip to the market!
