We found this place luckily, wandering around the market area. Th owner came by and immediately took us to see what food was still available in the kitchen. Everything looked very good... Then we sit in the dehor and we ordered: hummus, salad, meat-ball, pepper-rice with vegetable, goulash... It was fantastic. All the dishes were home made and the taste was typically middle eastern.
At the end we noticed that in the back of the menu there is also a very good review from the president of Slow Food, Carlo Petrini and being Italian it was a real surprise!

The Azur is a little bistro next to the market but still quite loud and noisy. if you're searching for a place to relax after a long day This might not be the best choice. but if you're looking for some authentic, delicioua cuisine this is the place! The food is fantastic even though at the end of the day the variety quite limited. i recommend you to go to Azur to grab a quick bite during the day, you won't regret it!

Great authentic Mizrachi-style food in Mahane Yehuda, at the end of the "Iraqi" section of the market. Usually there's a wait, and sometimes they run out of their key items, but everything they serve is delicious. Definitely worth the walk and wait!

Good hearty food to be found here. Not high end dining but authentic wholesome food. Food could be described as Kosher Turkish / Kurdish, with Iraqi & Syrian influences,
Located within the Iraqi part of the Mahane Yehuda market. Coming from Jaffa Road, head up Mahane Yehuda street and Azura can be found in an alley on the right.

This restaurant has been serving food for decades, where the food is slowly cooked in huge pots over traditional oil burners called ptelias. This authentic place is extremely popular with locals which might mean a little wait during busy times.
We had two hearty mains & soft drinks for 110 NIS.
