“This apartment is a dream come true in Jerusalem.”
Reviewed January 7, 2013 for a stay in December 2012

It had been a dream of mine to wake up in the mornings and look at the Old City. Staying at "Sultan's Refuge" was a dream come true. We were quite comfortable and Salme thought of everything in terms of making us feel welcome and at home. She was immediately attentive to our needs and we are grateful we found this apartment for our visit.

It was a perfect escape and we regret having to leave, even after a two-week stay.

We will definitely return.

“Truly a refuge! Perfect for visiting Old Jerusalem!”
Reviewed August 12, 2012 for a stay in July 2012

This beautifully appointed apartment is located a short and pleasant walk from Old Jerusalem, Jaffa gate. The neighborhood Yemin Moshe is very beautiful and peaceful. Parks and services are close by.

The apartment has wonderful views of mount Zion, David’s tower and the old city. Perfect backdrop to the outdoor sitting area for a relaxing glass of wine at sunset!
Beautiful design, modern and clean interiors while the old architecture is nicely preserved.
The apartment is well appointed and has a very comfortable bed! All the features for a comfortable stay have been considered!

Our hosts were great! This is our best vacation apartment to date, and this experience set a very positive tone for our 3 week tour of Israel. We would recommend this place 110%!

“A gem in the heart of Jerusalem”

Consider renting this gem only if you're capable of appreciating it!! We (husband, teenage son & I) stayed for only 1 week in May, and regretted not staying longer. It was a wrench to leave...

The location is a dream- the apartment's windows and entry face the walls of the Old City. Waking to that view is incomparable. Make sure to wander around the neighbourhood - the cobbled stairways and alleys are a joy, decorated with magnificently colourful plants and gardens. Its within easy walking distance of the Old City, the Mamilla Mall, the Artists Courtyard, and within reasonable walking distance to the central city, the German Colony etc.
Buses and taxis are plentiful from the nearby main roads.

The apartment has been designed with an architect's eye for aesthetics, space, function and attention to detail. Nothing has been overlooked. It is spacious, stylish, scrupulously clean and wonderfully comfortable. The decor is direct, unfussy, yet it felt quite luxurious. The bed was comfortable, generous clothes storage spaces, a great bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped -clearly by someone who actually uses a kitchen. (An unexpected kitchen bonus - a coffee machine.) Our 19 year old son was tempted enough to stay over every night. He slept on the pull-out couch in the lounge & reported that it too was comfortable. Although he didn't have his own room, the apartment is configured so cleverly that none of us felt crowded or that our privacy was compromised.

The owner (Salme) was a delight to deal with. The entire process of booking was efficient, smooth, problem -free. As a hostess, Salme is gracious, generously helpful but also highly respectful of one's privacy.

We visited in late spring, when the weather was perfect; no idea how it will be in the heat or cold. However, given the opportunity, I'd be back in a flash at whatever time of year! Its as close to perfect as one can get...

“A magical refuge in Jerusalem”
Reviewed June 25, 2012 for a stay in June 2012

Nestling at the foot of the Jerusalem National Gardens and bounded by Sultan's Pool in the valley just below is the magical village of Yemin Moshe - stone cottages and apartments set intimately amongst flowers and stone walkways, No traffic and breathtaking scenery all around. Butterflies too! We had a wondrous view of the walls of the Old City from Sultan's Refuge, the studio cottage we had thankfully found for our more than two week stay in Jerusalem. The accommodation was exactly the little haven we were looking for; beautifully appointed, spacious, clean, with every possible facility we needed. Very thoughtfully and tastefully furnished even down to a shopping trolley which we used almost daily. I think the website is understated and we were absolutley delighted to find this special place and would have no hesitation in recommending it - we are definitely going back there again! The pleasure of this accommodation added so much to our magical holiday . Its special, and we loved it!
