So, we went here on a recommendation from an Israeli friend. The food was absolutely phenomenal. You must, I repeat, you must have the Hungarian soup.

I was worn between two sandwiches, so the manager decided to combine them into one sandwich for me, which was excellent. Unlike most Israeli restaurants, this restaurant will finagle the menu to your liking.

I should also mention that we went with my 1 year-old son. The owner's of the restaurant have kids, so they took out a ton of toys for him and insisted that he sit on the floor and play with them to his heart's desire. They also have a huge, beautiful dog there (only in Israel would you have a dog in a restaurant), and my son was all over him.

A wonderful experience that should be had by all who are in Israel. You must go here!

Very expensive, was offered a special but charged regular price, no one to talk once they ring your bill, a dog is present at all times very unpleasant. Food is superb no doubt and also unlike other restaurants they add a tax at the end, in Israel the prices quoted includes tax unless noted, in their menu it not noted, and they go ahead they slam you with it.

Kosher bacon. Yes, it's not a dream, it's a dream come true! Between the historical Sergey Court and the re-new Jaffa Street, you'll find the Hess restaurant. Tradition and quality combined together form this excellent meat restaurant, that is strictly Kosher to the highest standards of the Kosher kitchen.
The Hess family has its history going back to Switzerland, where the family was one of the finest meat and sausage producers. The technics, tradition and know how have been passed from generation to generation, till we meet them here in Jerusalem.
As the tradition obliges, fine beer and wines are served alongside the meet. Fresh cooked potato salad and a fantastic plate of pickles make the table perfect. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, the service is super and it's all in the heart of Jerusalem. Fit for lunch or dinner, groups or individuals – everyone is welcome.
To conclude, a superb kosher meats restaurant. I liked it there and I'll be back. When you're in Jerusalem, walking your feet off, Hess is a perfect place for a lunch break or an evening relaxation.
