Fantastic Asian dishes - Chinese, Japanese, Mongolian - were all prepared perfectly and served by our very attentive and knowledgeable waiter. The atmosphere was very serene and calm. You wouldn't know that you were about 30 meters away from a very busy intersection full of cars, buses and vans. The lemon sorbet was great! Jasmine tea was also a wonderful way to rounded off the meal. By the way, saké was not on the menu, but was available when we requested it.

Sheyan is centrally located near downtown Jerusalem in Rehavia. It is a beautifully furnished restaurant with a pleasant and attentive staff. Because it has a high level of kashrut it caters primarily to religious tourists. The place offers a variety of appetizers, such as spring roles and fried mushrooms, as well as several special sushi rolls, noodle dishes and main courses of meat. All of the fried dishes a quite heavy, so best to avoid. The sushi is over-priced. However the main dishes are prepared well, very tasty and have a zest. This is especially true of the mongolian beef and the tempura chicken. Unlike some Chinese restaurants where the main dish is just a heap of vegetables and some meat that all tastes the same, these dishes are truly different and consist primarily of meat. For anyone who wants Chinese food in Jerusalem, this is the only place to go. It is slightly pricey. A very nice place for couples or a date.

Sheyan is Tucked away up some steps and unlike other Israeli restuarants is quite but still had a nice atmosphere. Our waiter recommended all the dishes we had including a few (fried rice with a hint of curry) that weren't on the menu.

We've gone to Shayan more than once, and let's just say - we keep going back! The only authentic asian food that we've found in the city. Keyara is great too, but if you want a different style - Sheyan is the way to go:) Waitresses are super prepared and helpful. Service is slow, but it's not a fast food kind of establishment. Really nice decor as well.
