Great place with traditional food with a touch of modern adaptation. There is a problem with finding decent food in Jerusalem, nearby old city. Apart from different doners and other Arabian kind of fast food. This is one of the best places to eat a traditional local kitchen, we go there every time we visit Jerusalem. Once a guy from this restaurant will start to tell you about their dishes, you'll simply do not know what to choose) close to Jaffa Gates.

The restaurant is located in an active location with many other restaurants hawking for customers. (That should have been the red flag.) The staff is pleasant and the setting is fine (outdoor seating in a quasi pedestrian spot), but the food is average at best. Add to that prices that are not cheap at all (in comparison to fine quality restaurants in Jerusalem) and you end up with a less than satisfying evening meal. I cannot say that there is anything bad about this restaurant, but I cannot say that there is anything particularly good either. You have several better choices within a few minutes walk of this establishment.

The location Was nice, so i checked the price list and asked for the daily speciality price. All the price Was less than 100 nis.
But when we got the final bill, the price Was completely different and even if i tryed to complain, them didn't do nothing.
Furthermore they added 15% of servire by default.
Un fair at least

Had no problem finding a vegan dish without having to explain for half an hour what I can or can't have. No very cheap but very reasonable for the area and the quality of the food, which was made to order.
Don't miss out on the bread with herbs and dips. Warm atmosphere.
The waitress was a real bowl of fresh air as in this area people will literally grab you and shout at you for half an hour to go to their bar, no matter how politely or unpolitely you tell them you're not interested.

That this restaurant is achieving 4 stars on TripAdvisor is a sad comment indeed about the state of Jerusalem cuisine.

Let's get one thing straight: the schnitzel was very good, and it's a cute little place. This hopeful basis for a positive experience was spoiled by:
- the arrival of steak ordered medium-well that had to be sent back more than once and still came back on the rare side
- weirdly peppery mashed potatoes
- the waitress failing to mention the prices of the specials, and upon request we learned that the famous lamb special is almost double the price of most dishes at a whopping 140 shekels
- no system to stop the freezing cold air from entering the restaurant during winter. Brrr.

This lackluster experience was capped off by a smoker sitting in the table by the front door, pumping their filthy smoke into the restaurant - against the law. Upon being told of this, the waitress shrugged and told us the smoker was "in the street" (um, on one of the restaurant's tables) and could therefore "do what they liked."

Well, Alma, here's the thing. You get 2.5 stars for your wet squib of a restaurant, and you lose two stars for breaking the law and permitting smoke to enter your premises.

1/2 a star out of 5.
