The food was excellent, the view was unbelievable and the service was on top - we had a waitress name Hila who was absolutely adorable to us. Go Hila! :)
Rooftop was definitely one of my highlights when visiting Jerusalem - I didn't think that the Mamila hotel could possibly be any more impressive, until we stumbled across the most incredible restaurant overlooking the old city!! Wth its' panoramic views, a relaxed but sophisticated vibe and fantastic service, I honestly could not fault Rooftop. My boyfriend and I were delighted by the quality food and wine, and especially by the attitude of the staff-whilst everyone was truly lovely, one young gentleman (by the name of Pavel) was extremely attentive and made our visit all the more romantic and one to remember. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough!!
I've been there once with my girlfriend and we annoyed every second of it, you can see all the old city from the balcony.
The food was tasty and the service was extremely kind!
Deffenetly will come back.
First Impressions: One of two sister concepts (The other one is called Mamilla Café), Rooftops is a kosher restaurant located at the farther end of Mamilla Mall (away from Jaffa Gate), literally on the rooftop of its namesake hotel. Unlike its sibling, its stylishly chic décor gives it an elegant, luxurious appearance.
PROS: Dining al fresco at the terrace lounge is the biggest draw, giving commanding views of the Old City. The food is also good. They have a separate regular menus and Shabbat Menus. And grilled meat! Ranging from £15 for the Mediterranean ravioli to £28 for their grouper (fish) fillet, it is not for the budget-conscious diner.
CONS: Here's a place for a dedicated carnivores, but then there are better meat places elsewhere . Although there's fish, it is only limited to a handful of dishes. Service is a bit more attentive but, still is the first thing to break down when the place gets busy. Likewise, management pockets the tips if you pay by credit card.
Verdict: Worth a visit for the view, if nothing else. Reserve seats beforehand. And, if your waiter is exceptional, tip him directly by cash (but, shhh, don't let his boss see you.) Recommended. Grade A-minus.
