“Take a tour with Danny... You will be educated and entertained... One of our best days in Israel”
Reviewed January 31, 2011

Danny was flexible and fun. Our family included 2 adults, a teenager and two little ones... 5 and 3. Danny was highly engaging and enjoyable for the kids and adults. He was filled with facts and stories... we thoroughly enjoyed our day at Masada and the Dead Sea. Our trip to Israel was last minute during high season- Danny only had one free day but went out of his way to help us find guides for other days.

“Danny the Digger: not cheap, but worth every penny - we learned so much!”
Reviewed January 27, 2011

A small group of us (5 adults) wanted a good driver-guide for a longish day exploring from Jerusalem, and Danny the Digger was recommended by a colleague. Overall, we felt he did a wonderful job. On the minus side, his strongly zionist views might not be to everyone's taste and perhaps he should not expound them quite so forcefully to clients. On the plus side, he was tireless: he drove and guided for 10 hours straight, adding in extra side trips for us and taking us on a mini hike that we had asked for at Ein Gedi nature reserve. He is a trained archeologist and was able to answer all our questions and more - he took us to see one or two sites that we would certainly have missed on our own - and gave us fascinating insights into their discovery and history. By the end of the day i was full of admiration for his knowledge, his energy and his skills. if you want a driver guide for the day from Jerusalem or Tel Aviv (he lives halfway between the two), Danny is very good. We took in Masada, Kumran, Ein Gedi kibbutz and Ein Gedi Nature Reserve.

“Jerusalem tour guide”
Reviewed November 19, 2010

When we planned our trip to Israel, we knew our time was limited and we wanted to make the most of it. Before our arrival we hired Danny Herman also known as "Danny the Digger". He is a guide as well as an archaeologist. The moment he picked us up we knew were in excellent hands. The tour began immediately and all the sites and information was incredulous. In retrospect it was the best money spent. Danny was professional. knowledgeable, efficient and personable. We enjoyed our trip and Danny was a large part of it.
We located him on his website "Danny the Digger"
Have a wonderful time
