they have tons of information on tours, trips, and where to go. very helpful staff and lots of activities going on. room was just average for the price, though the AC was strong. it had to be as it is right on a busy street so it will be loud if the window is open. breakfast was a nice addition.

I think what impressed me least about this hostel was the value. At $30 USD a night per person for a 6-person dorm style room, it was on the expensive side. If travelling with a friend, you could get a hotel room elsewhere in the city for a similar price (60-70 USD). I don't remember the exact price of the private rooms at this hostel, but they were more expensive than budget hotels in the area.

The hostel itself was fine... a clean sheet and pillowcase, and towels were provided, the hostel was cleanish, and there was lots of information/assistance available in terms of site seeing, arranging tours, using public transportation, etc. It was centrally located, and there was a bar and access to shared cooking facilities onsite. Breakfast was included in the hostel price, but this was poor. Cold hard boiled eggs, not yet ripe peaches and bananas, some cut veggies, bread for toast, cereal, coffee, oj.

I booked our stay at the Abraham because I had wanted to do their 2 day Petra tour (highly recommend!) and it made sense to stay where the tour was departing from. All in all the room, staff and service were all very nice but I definitely felt a little old for this hostel (late 20's). This is the ideal place in my opinion for young travelers.

I had the impression that this hostel has almost become a hotel, suffering from an identity crisis, which makes it very difficult to make a precise review. While as a hostel, the services offered are more elaborate than you might normally expect in a budget accommodation; as a hotel it leaves much to be desired.

Considering the high prices all around in Jerusalem, prices here are fair, specially given the hostel location and the excellent breakfast. You will have to deal, however, with a questionable cleanliness standard, a sometimes unfriendly staff and a system to heat the water for the shower that is very annoying.

Dear traveler. Thank you for your comments. We value our guests' comments in our ongoing effort to improve our services for future travelers.
Abraham Hostel, as it's name, is a HOSTEL and not a hotel. All out marketing channels state that clearly in order to set expectations right. Our main focus is on creating a social atmosphere for our guests and encourage them to interact and explore the country of Israel together.
I apologize if you felt there was place for improving the room cleanliness. Our 24 hour reception and daily housekeeping services are always there to fix such complaints when they receive them.
The short wait time for hot water in your en-suite shower is designed to save energy waste. This is a common solution in many places which suffer from shortage in natural energy resources and water. On top of the room shower we also offer common showers which offer 24 hour hot water without the need to wait for 20 minutes.

Well, I have booked this hostel in Jerusalem just for it's great overall score from it's visitors. Overall impression - average hostel, not the best I've been visited in my life. The worst thing there was that you are feeling like in conveyor. Nobody cares too much about you, everywhere there are many people, reception is always full and if you want to ask something, you must wait for 10-15 minutes when your row comes. Yes, they are organising tours, various events, but they are almost worthless, because of a crowd that are visiting these tours or events. I have stayed for 2 nights there and our room haven't been cleaned. Towels has not been changed as well. When you are staying for 2 days it's not a big problem, but if you will stay for a longer period? And Wi-Fi was not working properly. There were black periods for 20-30 minutes when you can't simply connect or after connection internet was not working at all.

Dear traveler. I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay in our hostel. We are putting great efforts in bringing a personal touch into each and everyone of our guests even though reception indeed might be crowded at times. I will personally see that our staff will do better on this matter from now on.
Wifi, cleaning or any other service which seemed to be working properly should be address immediately to our 24 hour reception. They are there to assist in such cases and I am sure they could have helped you as well had you reached the.
One point to clarify - we do clean all rooms (private and dorm) every day. If there are guests in the room we clean the bathroom, toilet, floor and trash. We do not change the bed linen or towels unless we are being asked to do so by the guest. For most of hostel guest this is considered a fair option.
All the best from Jerusalem.
